I tip for pick-up; most the time the bartenders are in charge of it, so its just like ordering something and having them work to make sure its ready when you show up. So yea, I tip for pickup (if its an actual restaurant). I'd say 10-12%

In all of my three months in fast food service, I never once got a tip. My tip consisted of my picking up the spare change from the floor that had dropped during the hundreds of drive-through transactions for that day. Sometimes it amounted to a few dollars.

So why would I tip for pickup? It's the same thing... I order, they make it, somebody gives it to me. Fast food except not fast and with a phone involved.

Umm, isn't that their job?
I don't get a tip eveytime I create an account on the systems I run.
"But somebody had to do it."
Yup, and that's why I get paid for it by the company.

At most places the bartender is in charge of pick-ups (all the restaurants I've seen at least); you tip for drinks right? I'm not talking Coney Island or something...but actual restaurants.

Waitresses make about $2 an hour (paid by their place of business); tips are how they make money.

I'm saying at most places they're done by the same person. A bartender would most likely rather serve drinks to people who are going to tip then take an order and make sure its ready for a person thats going to come in and not tip them. Right?

HAHAHAHA

You only left a 13.51% tip?? shame on you.

your just kidding monitor must be way off. it was just humor.

i don't give a sh!t what you leave for tip. that's your business. i just figured since you were already riled up, i'd just turn it up a notch.

next time i'm gonna have to put in the old [sarcasm] brackets aren't I?

I tip..based on someone actually putting in the effort to provide me a quality meal .

Most places enforce a "tip pool" system.

Therefore when I pick-up I usually leave a small tip.

No I don't tip on pickup or to go orders. If there's a tip jar there I might throw in my change.

I think we should get rid of the tipping system and have restaurant owners/operators pay normal wages like most other businesses.

You're ALL mixed up. When you have a waitress waiting on you, you are NOT Picking up anything, you are being waited on.

If you ordered food from a chinese place, walked in, paid for the food, and walked out, that is a "FOOD PICK-UP" and non tip worthy.
Now if you are in a BAR, ordering food and drinks, then you are tipping already when you walk up to the bar for your drinks.

So, I'm not understanding where you're going with this one.

Nah, its nice to get above and beyond service at restaurants. I'd rather not every place turn into the service I get at Denny's.

well, you can tip to get above and beyond, but it's gotten to a point where if you don't tip, bad things would happen. it's like a huge insult not to tip these days.

If you tip on a pickup where you did all the work, you might as well tip whenever you buy anything.
