yep the external appearance matters. i don't like alot of bright color lights (eg. thermaltake cases, i hate them). Lian Li V2000 case looks nice. I think Apple products very asthetically appealing -- the cinema displays, OSX GUI, mac mini.. they look very nice like piece of art.
 
nope. i'm totally function over form. all my cases are generic beige, occasionally with missing bays and no covers.
