When will 'The Rock' return to the WWF? It's not the same without him.

Looks like he is doing a lot more stuff, one of which might be better.

PS. I had to get in on the craziness

yea, he was supposed to be the next action star but I guess The Rock decided it was better to diversify. He has enough natural charisma to do other genres unlike other action stars so why not.

Remember during the 80's and early 90's we had Ahnold, Stallone and to a lesser extent Van Damme and Seagal. There aren't any real action stars now eh? At least none up to the level that Arnold and Sly were anyways.

Action movies changed at lot after Die Hard. The success of that movie really broadened the the concept of who could be an action movie star and opened the genre back up to regular actors. I actually remember seeing the trailers for Die Hard and wondering "WTF, that guy from Moonlighting is doing an action move?" but then I watched the movie and saw how much it owned anything Arnie had ever done (with the possible exception of Predator).

I don't know why you don't consider the Rock an 'action star'... all his movies have actions in them... even Walk the Line had more action in it than Twins or the one where Arnold was pregnant.

I would say Vin Diesel is an 'action star' too. And what about Jason Statham?

It had not one, but TWO future governors in it, which is serious ownage right there. Die hard changed the vocabulary of action movies, though, so it's tough to beat.

why come back? He gets more than enough money from making movies. Plus he doesn't have a crap travel schedule and doesn't have to put his body on the line every night he performs. Injuries are far less likely on a movie set than in the ring.
