When will Nvidia compete with the 5970 I bought December 2009?

I'm to say I didn't spend 1000 Euros on the 5970. The 5970 did not cost 1000 euros at launch-I live in England, it cost £530 as previously stated.

If you'd bothered to read my post (I don't blame you if you didn't or can't) you'd see that. 🙂

Ah yes, I see the post now. Didn't see that before.

Aristotelian - A quick link to his post would have been fine, I didn't know he posted the price he paid in the thread.

That's what I've read.

Micro stuttering occurs with pretty much all multigpu alternate frame rendering when you aren't getting high fps from each gpu. BUT I could not get playable performance in Arma 2 WITHOUT either a 5870 trifire/quadfire solution OR 3 480's or more. (64 players massive maps and temperate zone Crysis like graphics ) Arma 2 is far more demanding than Crysis and was inititally released poorly coded (unfinished) but its one of the very few (3 or 4 ) games to showcase what a really high end PC can do. I do see occasional microstutter but its that or unplayable fps with any single card at reasonable resolution. Also no PC yet made can come close to running it on maximum settings and playable frame rates.

Jacky, can you please tell me what driver you use for ARMA2? I crash to desktop during the intro menu screen.

Using 11.1. Make sure you've done a clean istall of drivers-(use driver sweeper or similar after deletion before install) and make sure you've patched up to date. I had a crash fest just before xmas that had me doubting the 920 overclock but patch 1.57 OA fixed that.
