FWIW, IE doesn't reload the pages based on a setting in the options. You can change it so that it checks for a new version each time it loads the page. FF, Chrome, Opera, and Safari all do this by default, which is a great. As an aspiring web developer, this "feature" in IE has really wasted me lots of time.

Any particular reason why? It's actually one of the fastest and most stable browsers now.

It still doesn't support quite a few CSS3 features that other browsers have had for quite a while. Also, if the site developer doesn't realize what they're doing, you can accidentally end up in IE7 or IE8 compatibility mode (which also seems to accidentally happen a lot to end users who actually use IE9). I'm also not convinced that its JS engine is actually faster on code that isn't optimized specifically for it.

IE6? quit your job, man.
Got my laptop back. they put Windows 7 Pro on it (had XP Pro) and updated to IE 8. I have to use IE for work stuff but I use Chrome for everything else. Of course 8 doesn't let you right click the back button and go back.

I also put another 2 gigs of RAM in it for a total of 4.

I tried to buy some more hampsters for our internal network but the pet store says there is a 10 day wait.

At least the Internet (we have web based applications too) is blazing.

I like IE9, but I still use Chrome almost exclusively. Has next to no problems at all that I've come across.

I hate using IE, sadly lot of stuff at work requires it. Sometimes it's such trivial stuff like javascript that if it was coded slightly better, would work in Firefox.

IE9 is bearable though, they finally caught up with other browsers. It even renders PNGs properly! They sorta fixed that in 8, but not quite, in 9 they finally got it.

I will probably be retired by the time my company upgrades from 6 though.

IE9 isn't caught up with other browsers at all. And I've yet to see a PNG IE7 couldn't properly render if it was a clean install (I understand there can be issues related to the registry, but IE's only fault is relying on the registry).

Chrome is also my primary browser, but it's not without problems.

On this message board, keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+B / Ctrl+I / Ctrl+U do not work.

No option for full title bar in the Windows version.
This means I need to lose my position in a Gmail conversation thread to scroll back up and check the email subject.
Also interferes with Win7 AeroSnap because I can't grab the titlebar area of a maximized window when there are lots of tabs open.

I also see that it animates a full scroll to the bottom of a 100 post page when I press "End" instead of just blinking there. I don't mind except that when I press End followed immediately by Page Up so that I can start reading the last post, it stops somewhere in the middle of scrolling down and then pages up. It should queue the commands or forget the uneeded animation and instantly finish (abort the animation and jump) before executing the next.
