Out of Pearl Harbor we got WWII.
Out of 9/11 we got Iraqi.
It did for me long ago. Some people get off on phony patriotism and crocodile tears though, so I'm sure it will be around for a long time.
Based on today's online & IRL responses, this is the first year where I would say that it feels like a memory now. I've literally been the only person to bring it up at work all day.
It's weird to think that the kids born in 2001 are teenagers today...
I still watch parts of Pearl Harbor the movie a couple times a month, the one with Ben Affleck. It's mostly the scenes of the attack on the harbor. So it's on my mind sometimes over the years. And my dad was in the US Marines and fought in WW2 in the Solomon Islands and Okinawa. And right now I'm watching a 9/11 video special on the History Channel. And later today I'll watch more about 9/11 on CNN, FoxNews, Discovery and maybe others. And I watch them a few times a year during the years since 9/11.

Yep I didn't realize it was 9/11 until someone brought it up today. I would have realized it right away if I looked at the date, but I didn't look at my calendar because I'm still pretending its summer.
