haven't feared for it yet. had some freaky moments, but each one I knew would not present a danger to my life.

oh and I love storms. Send your storms this way, even if they have tornadoes. I'd be outside documenting it with whatever tool I had available at the time, be it my camera phone or my film slr. I love storms and will watch them hoping they grow worse. Then I realize I am essentially hoping for damage to property (i don't want damage, just a tornado, but the two go hand in hand).

Oh, I just thought of one moment I was seriously scared (and probably for my life). I was, what... 6 or so? First time swimming in a lake at a local KOA without my swimmies (usually always had those inflatables on my arms, we called them swimmies). Well, I decided I could go out and reach the buoys. Turns out, I could, but I couldn't touch the bottom. So here I was, sinking to the bottom, and every time I hit I would bounce myself up back above water. It was less than a foot above my head, definitely, but enough to overwhelm me). So I would scream for my mom to help, but I'd get about half of a word out before I was back under, and the whole time I was trying to scream as well as breathe, so I was inhaling a lot of water. It hurt so bad. It took a few moments but I was finally heard and rescued by my mom. As soon as I got on the beach, I threw up.

and you didn't have to go to the hospital? Usually dehydration would start taking its toll and force you into the hospital.
And damn, did you basically just set up camp in the bathroom those days? That would be incredibly disruptive to any productivity for the day.

I've had many many experiences. Whether it be an injury that resulted me going to a hospital...thinking I was fine by the way I was being treated...then all of a sudden getting rushed into emergency surgery to have 2/3 of my pancreas and all of my spleen removed. Or even passing a staghorn when I was 10. For those of you that don't know what a staghorn is, it's about ten times the size of a kidney stone and I was ten. Sh!t was alot smaller then so ya...didn't end pretty. However this one story comes to mind...

My dad, myself, and my two sisters were swimming at the beach. We ended up on the side of the beach and all of a sudden we were stuck in the rip tide. Now I didn't know what the hell that was but I sure learned fast. It's where the water is getting sucked out into the ocean and even an adult swimmer would have difficulty swimming against it. If that wasn't bad enough we were deep enough that even my dad couldn't touch ground (otherwise why would he be swimming?) Well here we are a bunch of preteen kids and my dad. Well my dad ends up grabbing one of my sisters and holding her above water while swimming with the other arm and I do the same. Granted i'm maybe 12 at this point and my sister is 11. I could barely keep myself from being sucked deeper into the ocean let alone get back to land while holding her in the air with one arm and swimming with the other. All I remember was everyone screaming and no matter how hard we tried we kept getting sucked out further. Finally after what seemed like hours of trying to swim sideways to get out of it we finally are out of the rip tide. Ya it was time to go home then.

Went hiking with a few friends. We decided, against our better judgment, to hike up this steep hill which was practically a cliff. Going up was difficult. Going down, I thought one of us was going to slip and fall to our deaths for sure. Never again.

last year on a rafting trip with two good friends...
i fell out in a class 4 rapid where a bunch of people have died over the years. i was pulled under and beaten around on a bunch of rocks... almost broke my right foot and leg. i have never felt like i was going to die before. my buddy said he had never seen someone's face look like mine when he pulled me out, haha. and then to add some insult to the whole thing, i fell out two more times on that trip. needless to say, i am never going rafting again.
and now i have some sort of water phobia.

good times :)

One time on my parents farm i was milking and the cow kicked me a few times. I fell underneath her and last thing i remember was thinking i gotta move before she crushes me. Needless to say she did kick me in the head and knock me out. My mom ended up pulling me out. Her screaming and shaking me woke me up.

ya, that puts a serious fear in your head there. last time i was truly fearful of my life was walking down a dark alley. a couple guys jumped over the wall in front and behind a friend of mine and me, all of us pulled weapons. was surreal. i dont know what would have happened if my friend and i werent both carrying firearms, but it seemed to make the guys rethink their plan. no one fired, they left and we hightailed it out of that alley. makes me rethink using alleys as shortcuts to stores at midnight, ill tell ya that much.

This is an easy one. My friends and I just left a little CD shop about half an hour from my house, and I was driving. The shop is located on a very busy street that also happens to run up and down a large hill, at the bottom of which it crosses a decently sized river. As I make a left turn onto said street, about to go down the hill my brakes stop working. I put the pedal to the floor, but nothing happens. So I put on the horn and start weaving around people as we accelerate down the hill. The stop light ahead turns yellow and I blow through it, almost getting hit several times. Ended up flying over the bridge and going up the hill on the other side which slowed us down enough for me to cost us to a stop at a gas station. I've never been that scared in my life, it scared the piss out of me. Not literally though, thankfully. All I could think of was my three best buddies riding with me.

7.62 flying 2-3ft above my head. during basic. With tracers i might add, so you could see how close you were too them, needless to say, i was as close to the ground as i possibly could be.
went sledding on a steep hill, didn't expect the wood fence to come at my head so fast, slammed into it. saw a bright light, woke up gasping for air.(ja, i was shaking and went home afterwards)

i'll add one or two later on when i remember them, just cant remember the details right now.

Next time pump the brake pedal quickly.

Next time pump the brake pedal quickly, select 1st gear or use the handbrake...
