Her policies are largely the same as Obama's policies, and that great desert of joblessness known as the rust belt remained rusty under his 8 years of failure. She lost due to the "rust belt states" formerly Democratic voting blue collar white population saying "enough with the abuse!" and they voted in their own interest for once - real jobs being created, or for those jobs to stay in the nation [Carrier air products which has already happened]. Hillary Clinton, just like Obama, would have done nothing for those 1100 men and their families are Carrier, and would have smugly let them become poor and living on welfare and section 8 housing...Yea, thats worth a vote. Right its not, hence why she lost the Rust belt and good!

And Hillary Clinton - She had to keep hammering that "Im a woman" because she was not likable at all, and she is a corrupted cheater, fraud and liar. If she did not cheat Bernie Sanders at two debates then he may have been the nominee and you know what? I think Bernie would have won and i could tolerate him as many other Democrats who voted Republican this cycle could to [he would have kept the rust belt states]...But im sure the libs here will deny Hillary cheated Bernie.

They didn't vote for Trump, it was just that Democratic turnout was lower.

Yeah, the president intervening personally to save 0.2% of the jobs in one sector in a mid-sized state through giving millions of dollars in tax breaks to a giant multinational corporation is a super smart policy, lol. I just saw today Trump was proposing a 35% tariff on US companies that outsource production to other countries, which is basically a crude form of capital controls. He's literally calling for a page out of the Hugo Chavez economic playbook, which has worked out super well I might add. 😉 All I can say is that I hope there are some competent adults there ready to restrain him if he actually tries to implement these policies.

Clinton wouldn't have done something for those 1,100 people because the job of the president is to be the president of the whole country, not your handpicked favorites. It's not just stupid economics to engage in this form of cronyism for what is functionally no gain, it's stupid for the whole country. If I were a CEO of a multinational right now I'd be searching for ways to move jobs overseas so I could get a basket of goodies from the president elect who doesn't realize or doesn't care that he's getting played. If I were a small business competing with those multinationals I would be thinking I was screwed as if you can't threaten to move jobs, you don't get free exemptions from taxes.

Those 800 jobs kept are pretty amazing when compared to Obama's 16 million jobs and 80 straight months of job growth, the largest gain in median income in decades and a rapidly dropping poverty rate. All after the worst economic recession since the great depression.

But yeah you go ahead and keep showing me how righties like you live in reality after telling us how Clinton cheated in the primaries by winning the most votes and delegates by a wide margin. Lol

It really does not matter. The corporate interests are in league with the government, Republican or not. They are on the same team and won't do anything to hurt one another. Both parties are in league with big banks and big business. I know the political ideologues here will disagree but it doesn't change reality.

Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs "partner," was just given the Treasury Secretary job. I'm sure many more of these elites and the ruling class will be given jobs in the coming days.

It is all a giant game and the American voters are getting played.

What if the only thing in the world was the United States. Wouldn't we be doing all of our manufacturing here. Wouldn't the welfare of the middle class be based then on the bargaining strength of unions. The state of the working majority would still depend on it's political demands for some sort of equity and fair participation. A small percent of the human population has most of the genius ideas that create a better future, but that percent requites a medium in which to successfully work. People have an innate sense of justice and fairness and if they aren't too fucked over will listen to reason.

The GOP under trumps direction will become the workers party, the party of the middle class. This will be the death of the democrat party.
 
Is this thread because of the one where Trump's win was predicted ? Maybe now there is a feeling the powers of Nostradamus have been attained after Trump's win. For a group that derides the way they are referred to as low-information and dumb, Republican supporters sure do a lot of work online to help propagate a basis for that belief. The braintrust that believes the media and polls were in cahoots with the Democracts because they were predicting a Hillary win is certainly doing a good job of that. There were times he was as low as 15% and then nearing the election he was a steady 30%. Shocking math revelation incoming: 30% is not 0%. A one in three chance is a possible chance, but a less likely one.

As far as the manufacturing fantasy he filled the minds of the gullible with, this is never going to happen. If an individual holds a job that anyone can be pulled in off the street and trained to do in a few weeks, that person's value in the job market is next to nothing. Anyone who believes that now that Trump is in power they'll be making a 50K+ a year salary for sitting on a manufacturing line and putting screws and widgets into some product as it passes by their station is delusional. In North America that skill set is worth minimum wage unless you are in a union and have some level of protection, and I believe unions are Satan personified to Republicans anyways right ? The reason no skill labour is viable in China is because they can pay them cents a day, even paying minimum wage for the same work in the US is not viable, never mind a decent salary for doing a job anyone can perform with minimal training.

Today's reality is you must have skills that set you apart from the rest of the herd if you want a decent salary. Why don't these unskilled labourers pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get some instead of waiting for Trump to socialize their jobs with tax breaks ? 😀 We're moving towards a reality where there are going to be people who need to be paid a wage just for being alive and breathing because there is nothing for them to do anymore. Even professional fields are becoming saturated and many professional field's education requirements are not viable for everyone.

In four years he'll have done some more Carrier deals, I doubt he'll get a 35% tariff passed on goods made outside of the US because it would mean hell for people who are already financially strapped and he'll blame everyone but himself for the golden utopia of the 50s not coming back. Stability in the middle east will not come because the US is the primary instigator of instability in the world. What will likely happen is Trump will go to 'war', not really a war though, so much as another curbstomp of a poor nation that can't defend its self. Economically that will likely help those who profit from war, but it will put the US as a nation in huge debt again as wars cost trillions. The middle east will be even more screwed up from US policy than it already is. If Trump wants to go bigly he'll want to kill more than the close to half million Bush did in Iraq, maybe a million ? Who knows maybe he'll nuke a large population center. All those dead people's family and friends left behind will contain a tiny subset of irrational and unstable individuals who the nuts in charge of recruiting for terrorism will indoctrinate and the next ISIS will rise and the cycle repeats.

The morons who believed him as their messiah will vote for him again to 'stay the course of the righteous 'war' Trump is fighting' and making America great again by putting everyone to work assembling coffee makers.

Ok, let's say everything works out as you predict. Why do you think that the Democrats won't simply adapt? They can adopt the parts that work as their own policies and and promise to do something better. America is in no danger of becoming a one party state.
