I think we should show their bullet ridden corpes on TV and in print everytime a news update is aired and not use any of the pictures of them as they looked before they went batshit insane. I've seen the pic of the guy who shot up LAX a few months ago laying on the carpet in a terminal with a huge pool of blood next to him and a blank stare on his dead bloody face, his arms bound behind his back. It is gruesome but maybe this would deter some of these whackos seeing how their heros end up... and they almost always end up that way.

What do you think?

I don't think you can use scare tactics on somebody that is already insane. I'm sure they already know the outcome.
 
Won't do jack except scar a lot of innocents for life.

There are crazy people, then there are sane people. You can't reason with crazy people.
 
I think we should capture them and kill them in the most inhumane way possible. I bet some of them would think twice if the punishment was to slowly be fed into a grinder feet first. Granted, they may be more likely to commit suicide, but that's a risk they'll have to weigh - whether or not they'll be successful.

Is this like the vegan tactic of showing videos of slaughterhouses, as if meat eaters didn't know their food was killed?
 
If we could catch one on camera right as he was choking out his last wheezy, gurgling breath it would be even better. I think when most of these people imagine their killing spree and it's aftermath they skip right over the part where they die alone in a pool of their own blood surrounded by people who despise them. All they imagine is the joy of the massacre and then skip right to how the world is going to be forced to see the pain they're in and appreciate them for the enlightened, but tortured soul that they are.

Just in case they don't watch the news we should plaster posters of the dead bodies of past killers around the country's busier areas, perhaps along with a detailed description of what those killers had hoped to accomplish with their acts and how none of it came to pass after their deaths.

I think you should be red flagged by the DOJ before ever getting approved to acquire a firearm. Blood lust is not healthy.

Smart Gun Laws (keeping guns out of hands of mentally insane)
Better Mental Health Care laws (addressing the needs of the mentally insane)

Will reduce mass murders more than any scare tactics could...

Most mass murderers wind up shooting themselves before anybody else has a chance to stop them.

Hopefully it will be after they go off on a bunch of those annoying ass bikers so we can just exercise the 2 wrongs = a right principle and move on.

Diagnosed with a disease that can cause unstable mental states. Taking medication, or have taken medication for such disease.

It's not foolproof, but you could come up with a list of diseases that can contribute to a person "snapping', or diseases that remove a persons abillity to have empathy.

I don't think it will happen any time soon. I'm simply explaining how to fix the problem, even if the NRA will convince themselves that the fix is worse than the problem.

Also, for what it's worth, I do own a handgun, and I am not "anti gun."

They don't need to be insane I think, just diagnosed by a physician or psychiatrist with any of a number of mental diseases that present a high risk of having a psychotic break. Bipolars, schizophrenics, people with multiple personality disorders, etc. would all be candidates for restriction. There are ways to do this that aren't difficult to define adequately.
