She did give anybody a chance to stand behind her, (which in some ways, would be a spectacular place to...) Almost immediately after it came out, she said she was just cannot toss it in. The only thing I find curious about that, is that she said that she was doing it because "she didn't know what would be next".

So Katie, what else is out there sweetheart? Is that a great Dane or a bull mastiff? How many guys again? Give us a clue. o_O

I tend to agree that there's more she doesn't want to get out, probably to avoid embarrassment over more nude photos, or who knows what. It's difficult to explain her decision to resign otherwise because based on what is publicly known and seen so far, there isn't nearly enough there to end her career.

Then again, something tells me that you really want to know the details of this. Maybe a bit too much.

This might solve the mystery of why she resigned. From her speech to House:

She apologized to her family, friends and supporters for "my faults" and thanked them for standing by her, but said she'd been warned conservative operatives had "hundreds more" pictures they planned on releasing "bit by bit until they broke me down to nothing while they used my faults and my past to distract from the things that matter most.""I'm scared," Hill acknowledged.

She's hoping they won't humiliate her with further naked pictures if she makes herself politically irrelevant. I wouldn't bet on it. She probably should have stayed on and toughed it out. That said, I have a lot of sympathy for her.

Also, she needs to sue her ex-husband for everything he's got. Logically, he's the only person who could have supplied those photos to conservative media.

I admired the Jeff Bezos approach but it's a a personal choice and I respect hers.

Yeah, I'm not really judging her for it. I just think that if avoiding the release of these nude photos was her main reason, she may well find that they're going to release them anyway just because they're bad people.

She should have released the pictures herself, thereby robbing them of any power. She's got a smoking body, I'd like to find that staffer, so I can give her her Luckiest Girl In The World trophy.

She must not be real bright to begin with to allow the pictures to be taken and not have full custody of them yourself.

I'd like to know who these mysterious "Republican Operatives" are?
How did the Republicans even get involved other than her saying it was them?
Is her Ex-husband a Republican?
He is the one that should be thrown in the slammer for the revenge Pron along with anyone else involved with the images release.

This is just a generational thing. I would hazard a guess that most people that grew up with cellphones with cameras are going to have some pictures floating around out there. There is this concurrence of a certain age and mental development that makes them want to explore sexually but still too naive to think of how a record of it might affect their future.

Honestly I figure that the only thing that has saved us from a tsunami of old man dick pictures already is that they can't figure out how to attach a picture to a text message. The good news is that the newer generation (those in their teens now) have figured out to use messaging systems like snapchat that are both encrypted and do not leave a permanent record.

Never used your phone to take a errr.....picture of your wife? I’m not talking about a creeper picture, I mean one she knows is happening.
Should have kept the face out but I still say she should have owned them. She looks good, confident and likely a good time.

I wonder how couples handle phones these days....

Do we go back to the puritanical days where we never appear to take our clothes off?
Do we ban cell phones from the bedroom / bathroom?

Could just walk by the room and "snap". Anyone you are with can do some serious damage in seconds, given how our society cares deeply about hurting others over this sort of thing. You are nude! You have a body! You have sex! HOW DARE YOU BE HUMAN!?!? And now we all carry around a permanent means to expose this sin in others. Apparently, no matter how far we have progressed, we are still puritanical at heart.

Democrats stood by Bill Clinton, but they did not stand by Katie Hill. Shame, that. She did not deserve this outcome.
I don't stand by either of them. I believe that fidelity is a virtue that when lived by creates a moral good within society. "if I can just get somebody new to love me I'll then feel OK" No, you'll maybe just fuck up your husband or your wife and your kids. There is a vow that goes with marriage and only the unworthy can't honor their vows. Sorry. Seek counseling or as amicable a divorce as possible.

It's not infidelity, if the other person knows about it. They were a happy threesome until Katie told the staffer to choose. When hubby got shown the door, he pitched a fit, and released the pics.

Not only do we disagree on what fidelity is, but the negative consequences of what happened would not have under my standards. Not saying everything would be perfect, just better. Don’t marry if you want open relationships.

Deal with your neediness so you will have sharper instincts to protect yourself from falling for some dick or bitch.

No. I've never taken a picture of my wife in a compromising position or situation. She isn't stupid and would never allow it even if I had asked.

LOL I have like 8 hard drives full of myself with others.

But then again my first month I really tried I had sex with 36 people not counting repeats. After that I lost count.

I really wouldn't care what someone calls me. Sure some people have me beat but not many!

What did you guess? Because I guessed you were no fun and Indus was the opposite.

I would say, but the new rules and all.... I may get infracted. :p

This gambit will not be tolerated, going forward, to evade the new rules. Everyone trying it will get a zero point warning, so no one can say, after that, that they just didn't know.
