Go to the grocery store and buy a steak then you dumb ass. Google how to cook a steak and your plight can be over.

lets not go there. I can't afford the hp sauce let alone the t-bone steak.

Been a while since I had a straight out steak. Grooming up every time we went out was to a steakhouse. T Bone medium rare.

Going to Flemmings next week to grab one.

I've been to plenty of other big-name chain steak houses but haven't yet hit up them. Hope it's good.

I'm pretty sure I'd go full cannibal if I didn't have a ribeye once a week.

A nice coffee-based rub and flame running at 600 degrees or so. Perfection.

Not a big fan of steak. I think the last one was a couple years ago at mom's. Before that, I couldn't even say. Maybe 15 years?

a mom cooking steak would be weird when you think about it. Always thought mom's made meals with ingredients that are available when all options are gone.

Not sure why she made it tbh. Before that, I can't remember the last time she made a steak. It was probably as a kid living at home. She probably got a good deal on it or something. She doesn't eat red meat anymore. She's gotten some peculiar dietary ideas that have come from being old and mushy headed.

but you remembered it though. I think all our mom's wanted to let us know they thought about us when they planned their meals,...even if it just a once in lifetime.

Never been a fan of steak. It LOOKS good when I look at it, especially with some nice char marks, but I just don't like the taste, I don't know why. Give me a burger and fries and I'm happy. :p I'm cheap to entertain.

If it's been 10 years, you need to fire up that grill. I cooked over 6 pounds of porterhouse steaks last Sunday as the main and some brats as appetizer before the steaks. That's 8 lbs of meat for the three of us and our dog. The whole meal was less than $50. At a restaurant, that's price of one entree. Plus I can't take my dog and I can't eat in my pajamas. I love my Weber kettle.

NY Strips on the Weber gas weekly. Just salt 30-minutes prior to kissing the flame as they warm up to room temp.

Never a bad time to fire up the grill.

Cooked a filet mignon in the cast iron pan with a garlic mushroom sauce last weekend. It was pretty dang good.

I eat steak 2x a week. My go to is Costco filet and NY (half of the time choice, half prime). I used to reverse sear (cast iron sear, then oven to medium rare) but I fell into the Youtube video rabbit hole and now I sous vide it and blow torch sear to finish.

Saved a lot of money not going to steakhouses anymore. $50 will get you 4 prime filets or NYs, whereas at the restaurant it's $50-60 per steak. I've gone keto so I don't really care about the sides anymore. Save even more drinking own cocktails and wine.

Had one last night. We get ours at Costco too. Not sure what the cut is, but sirloin or NY strip I think. Never had a bad one from there. My wife sears them on a griddle pan and then cooks them in the oven.
