When is the 90nm AMD 64 3500+ being released?

I was thinking about getting the 3500+ processor, but someone told me to wait till it came out with a 90nm version because it would run cooler. I see that the 3000+ and 3200+ are out now in 90nm. When do you suppose the 3500+ 90nm will come out and what price will it be?

How much of a performance increase will there be between the 3200+ and 3500+ 90nm's?

I've done some research on these two processors. Not sure what you're going to use your computer for but this is what i have found out. Based on some benchmarking performed on tech-report.com, the 3500+ will give you around a 6% increase over the 3200+ in Doom3. In the Mozilla browser test, the 3500+ gives a 6% increase. The MusicMatch test showed a 10% increase. In MS Office applications (Word, Excel...) the increase is negligible between the two. Those are the stats I remember off the top of my head.

The 3500+ (90nm) will cost around 30% more than the 3200+.

Do yourself a favor and check out this article so you can make an informed decision. They did a good job at benchmarking the 3200+ and 3500+ and show how they compare to the 4000+ and FX55.

I'm building a computer for pro audio editing, pro video editing, gaming, photo editing, as a real time audio effects processor with multipule channels going in and out, etc.

Can you reccomend parts for this set up? Like every part, name, model, etc.?

I am guessing in a week or two. I have seen retail versions of 3000+ slowly being available.

I've encountered a slight problem. I am upgrading to a 64-bit system and wanted to put in the 90nm 3500+, but the Asus A8V Deluxe needs to have a bios update to support the new 90nm process. As I don't have a spare 939-pin proc laying around the house, does anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate any inputs.:confused:

The 3500+ Winchester (90nm) is out.. mine just got dropped off today by FedEx.. ordered it umm monday I think.. so 2 day delivery isnt bad. Monarch is wack though.. they had it for a week Out Of Stock at 315$ and it wasn't due in until Wed. the 27th. Well Monday morning I checked the link, and it was in stock, 2 days early.. not only that it was down to 299$.. quickly ordered it and got the 3yr warranty for 15.. so 314$ total (no tax, free shipping), and 2 hours later it was back to 316$ without a warranty. This is OEM, and imo its better.. take the 10 bucks and put it towards a real HSF, even a thermltake venus 12 for ~30 is 10x better than stock.

i got mine today for $316 from monarch computer.

damn ZZF, those just went on sale today! well 309 for a retail is good, but the stock HSF is pretty much worthless anyway. Go get some AS-5 and a good aftermarket cooler, and replace it!

The stock HSF is not worthless. Right now I'm using the stock HSF from my A64 2800+ on this Sempron. Stable at 2.4 ghz on 1.5 volts. It's actually quite decent for a retail cooler.

90nm is better than the 130nm version. It runs cooler and OCs farther. What more could you want.

You can look up countless threads and articles on the technology, but here is breif summary. The 90nm (nanometer) is the size of each transistor in the CPU. The previous were 130nm. Smaller transistors use less power, and therefore generate less heat. Those 2 factors have been the biggest limits in overclocking. That is why they are preferable. HTH!

maybe more like make sure its a 90nm 3500 and then get a MSI k8n neo2 plat. or a board with nforce 3 250gb not VIA wont get as much of a overclock using via

How far does the new 90nm 3500+ overclocks on air? From what I have heard the old 130nm goas around 2.5-2.6 on air.

anandtech got to 2.6 with out a voltage up. the 3000 had to have higher voltage. so im expecting something over 2.6

any one seen the a64 3400+ 90nm its on newegg.com its "only" 291.00$ im not sure about persormance due to the fact that i havent seen this processor berfore (and if im not seeing this right some one plz correct me).
