Can you reccomend parts for this set up? Like every part, name, model, etc.?

Thanks

for major encoding and decoding, an Intel will give a pretty good edge over an AMD, and i don't even use intel procs...

hmm..i just checked newegg tonight, and there are two 3500+ chips out right now. both say socket 939 and the prices are 309 and 287. im going to assume its the winchester core and the newcastle core? only the newcastle core specifies itself as 90nm. does anyone know the difference between the newcastle core and the winchester core? thanks

nite - just go to the advanced search on newegg and under process select 90nm and you will see what they have.

Well newegg has a retail 3500+ for 309. They say the process is 90nm, but the core is newcastle. 90nm cpus are using the winchester core. So it is very confusing and there is no telling what it really is.

thats not as bad as what i have..i got the CPU...but i am deperately waiting for the nforce 4 boards..AND the pcie gfx card....i guess the time we get the (bug free) nforce 4 and the nvidia 6800GT Pcie i could've gotten the CPU for a lot less money......it sucks to sit on parts and being unable to build :)

Stupid paper-launches !!! :p

hehe oh man. just checked zipzoomfly.com and newegg. they both have the 3500+ with90nm, but zipzoomfly advertises there's as a winchester core and newegg advertises theres as a newcastlecore. keep in mind, these are both the process are both 90nm. not the 130nm. can anyone shed light on this? thanks

paper launches phhht they shouldnt even tell us about these things untill they are in their final stages. it sucks to get all excited and then they say "oh wait no we will release that later" then you are just stuck with waiting and having cr@p or buying now and having somthign obsolete in a few months *sigh*
