When did you stop mooching off your parents?

I'm going to go ahead and assume you mean mooching, and I still do it at 19.

s/smooching/mooching

When I was 18 my dad said "I'm moving out, you have to pay the apartment rent."

And so it was.

heh, you'd think someone asking this question would know what "mooching" is.

When I moved out.

I left home at 17, 3 days after graduating from high school. I had thirty bucks in my pocket and my buddy had about fifteen. We worked for room, board and gas money. We went hungry on occasion, but we had a lot of good times. Eventually joined the Army and the rest is history.

When I turned 15 and got my first job. Paid for my own clothes and entertainment from that day forth. If I ever did borrow from them I always repaid in full.
My Mom has been gone for 17 years and my Dad 6.

Caucasions seem to move out and live on their own a lot faster than Asians.

I'm 20 but my parents want me to live at home since I eat better here, have a better place to live in, and able to only have to worry about school. I'm not complaining.

No kidding. I have Asian neighbors that live a couple of doors down from me and I think they have 3 generations at least living in the same house.

A lot of places in the south are like that. Some people never leave their county/parish.

Hey Sal, I didn't know my neighbors would be on ATOT too. What a small world.

I was 23, and got my first decent paying job. That was 6 and 1/2 years ago.

i earned my own money at 13

paid some room/board to help out when i got a full time job, after i graduated from high school;at 17
i still lived at home till i bought my home, just before i turned 22.

I owned and paid for the upkeep,{tires,gas,oil,insurance,etc}
my own vehicle, when i was 17,and still in 12th grade.

work is a 4 letter word,LOL,but it helps to pay for my junk, and a roof over my head.

Hey interest rates are down even more,I think i will refinance my mortgage. :)

I got my first job at 16, so I didn't ask for money after that.

I actually moved out when I was 22.
