Haven't started. Always hated the smell of cigarette smoke. Also, the thought of getting tar and other crap in my lungs isn't particularly appealing.

Love the smell. Love the rush. Don't give a shit what society tells me to do--pro smoking or anti smoking.

Started smoking around 10 or 11. Parents both smoked, and at that time all of the kids on my block thought it was cool to go to the cigarette dispenser at a restaurant near us to buy them, the kind where you pull the handle and the pack would fall.

My parents still smoke, and now roll their own cigs. I still smoke like a fiend when I drink. Never touch them when I'm sober, they actually make me dizzy now for some reason.

Tried it first when I was 14 out of curiosity. I would take a few drags every once in a while hanging with smoker friends. Didn't actually start smoking until I was 17 - not very many, just a cigarette after every meal. By the time I was 19, I was going through three-four packs a week. I'm 25 now, been smoking a pack a day for the past 3 years I guess. Sometimes might smoke 8-9 packs a week. It goes high on the weekend because I have an extra 18 hours to spare that I don't during the work week.

I've taken a couple puffs of cigarettes or cigars a few times; every time I tried they were disgusting. The smell of cigarette smoke is repulsive and gets everywhere. Smokers and all of their belongings smell awful.

I have tried smoking a hookah a few times and it was nice. Didn't burn my lungs/throat since the smoke is cooled by the water. I am actually able to get a buzz from smoking hookah because I'm able to tolerate it long enough.

First smoke was in 10th grade, continued at parties in high school and college. Slowly stopped after college and now I never smoke.

19, study abroad in France. Hours sitting around the table in my host family's garden BSing away while downing high quality scotch and smoking a pack of high quality cigarettes. The habit stayed with me when I returned to the states.

It was awesome then, and it sucks ass right now. Tried quitting 3 times and I always end up starting again when alcohol is involved.
