When did you learn the truth about Santa Claus?

How did you feel after that?

I sneaked out of my room during Christmas eve (I think I was about 10) and saw my parents preparing our presents. I already (halfly) knew that Santa Claus was not real but choosed to believe otherwise before this incident. What I saw confirm it :(

But then I saw what I'm getting (it was a watch that can be transformed into a robot) and was happy again :)

I don't even remember when I figured it out, so I must have been very young. My parents never tried to pull that crap on me, so I might have never believed in Santa.

4 or 5. My parents weren't ones to give gifts (we were poor growing up), so they just went ahead and told me all about the "story of Sanata Claus."

I don't remember ever believing in Santa Claus. I think my sister told me when I was 3 or 4. I was a very skeptical child (much more so than the typical child). I doubted everything that everyone told me until I was given multiple proofs. Thus it is very much like me to not really ever believe in Santa.

I may have believed when I was 1-3, but I don't remember any Christmas at that age.

i never remeber having this "moment of clairity" realizing that Santa was not real... i guess because we were always told that there actually WAS a type of santa by my grandparents. We are slovak/polish so we believed in St Nicholas and that is what we thoguht... no more. we knew that he was not alive anymore, but my family still continued the tradition of putting our shoes out and finding gifts given by each other in honor of the season too.

I mean, we always went to see santa and sat on his lap,etc, but i cannot remeber being sad that there was not this real person. i guess i was around 6 or 7.

sadly enough. i was more upset to find there was no such thing as the easter bunny!:eek:

I was like 7ish pretty young, but I figured it out on my own, so my dad admited it and made me swear not to tell my mom, who thought I believed in Santa till I was about 12ish...

I think I was around 6 or 7 (very young) when my jerk sister (7 years older) decided to ruin my Christmas for me by telling me that Santa Claus wasn't real.

I think I cried for a while. I kinda felt like less of a kid after that because shortly after she told me about the Easter bunny and leprechauns, too. (I have a terrible sister)

Anyway, I was kinda relieved that I'm the youngest so I didn't have to worry about accidentally ruining it for my younger siblings. My sister, on the other hand, did it deliberately. I at least understood why my mother wrote so much like Santa after that, though. I was kind of suspicious when I begged Santa for a life-sized Barbie but didn't receive it that year because he was too "busy". :(

My daughter is 8 and is asking a bunch of questions. Probably last year for her. My son is only 4 though so he's in prime Santa territory :)

I dunno, I guess it's traditional, but I don't think I'm going to try to get my kids to believe in Santa. It just seems kinda cruel.

no. She ruined Easter so then I had to believe in the real meaning of it and she ruined the idea that on St. Patrick's day leprachauns don't come into the classroom and leave tiny little green footprints everywhere:(

When I saw "Santa" getting a bj by one of his female "helpers", I knew. And then proceeded to try and stab my eyes out with Lego's.
