having a PC vs. mac debate with a friend of mine, i'm not even going to begin it on this...

but what OS/CPU do you have, and when did you last restart?

me: XP/P4, restarted 12 days ago... still running fine, purring along.

The last time I restarted was 9 days(s) 19 hour(s) 13 minutes(s) 46 seconds(s). This is on a Windows XP Professional machine that had a clean reinstall done a few weeks ago. Some time last year I was able to keep Windows XP Professional up and running fine for about 40 days straight with a 500 megahertz processor and 256 megabytes of RAM and the computer was used every day for a few hours each day.

A couple hours ago, finally installing cats 4.6.
Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1.72GHz, Win2k SP4.
For the record, the install is going on two years old, two (or is it three--can't remember!) mobos, three main (OS drive) HDs (ghosted twice), three (soon to be four) video cards, two PSUs, three sound cards, and two monitors. Not a single hard lock, unaccounted-for reboot, or BSOD yet.
