When did you join Gmail? How many messages are in your inbox?

September 22, 2004 with 11,447 messages in there. I've actually deleted a bunch though for whatever reason.

Almost no spam in my inbox. A lot of those unread messages are mailing lists I signed up for, but rarely read. Things like daily or weekly updates from golf and skiing forums, hot deal notifications from airlines and cruise companies, breaking news from the local newstalk radio stations, etc.
I should probably clean some of that up.

How many of those 9646 do you really need?

I just went through my archived mail. Went down from 1396 to 140. Joined in '05. 140 emails total as of today. It is also my primary personal email. I pretty much delete emails I don't need as soon as I receive them.

My oldest email in my inbox is 4/18/06 but I know I had the account long before that.

Anyone care to share how to find the join date?

Actually a good number. The majority of those are going to be the "sent" emails; of which I do not filter.

I keep some business and important private emails on there. They are tucked away though. I just can't stand a cluttered inbox and see no reason in teh world for it. I don't know what I would do without filters and tags.

3/23/05 ... based off the oldest message I've got. And I have 0 messages in the inbox ... I hate clutter in there, and make extensive use of filters and labels for archiving things I want to keep. 2198 emails total.

I have no idea when I joined. At present, I have:

44,595 in "All Mail"
23,155 in "Mailing list"
8 in the Inbox

The oldest e-mail I have has a date of 10/3/96. Obviously, I imported my old e-mails over. I got tired of dealing with mbox archives of stuff.

I have saved 6955 emails from deletion. I delete anything and everything that I don't think I'll need.

How is it extra work, just type in a word and it brings up everything, though it's rare I even need to do that, unless I am looking for this past year's tax receipts or something.
