All these threads are reminding me to re-install using NTSU insted of Fat-32. Too much work :(

What's NTSU? You mean NTFS? Go with NTFS if you want better file security, otherwise F32 was OK with me when I used it back with Win98.

I think I mashed the short for need for speed underground and NTFS :p

Fat 32 doesn't allow for files larger that 4 gigs which makes some stuff a hassle. The reason I went with Fat32 was because my xp-pro disc does nothing when I put it in. I had to use a win98 start up disc and then install win 98, and then win xp over it. There HAS to be an easier way!

convert C: /fs:ntfs

There you go, no data loss.

I just installed windows last week after my maxtor ate dirt.

Before you convert FAT32 to NTFS, check this out, first.

There exists a condition that will end you up with a 512 byte cluster size. If that is undesirable to you, there's an app you can download there to ensure this doesn't happen. The fix applied by the app offered there is also easily performed by Partition Magic.

That's why you give the computer illiterate members of your household their own PCs on their own (firewalled) subnet!

The amazing thing is, it has tested almost every piece of hardware that I have traded. check my heat.
It is a wonder the PCI and AGP slots will even hold a card anymore:p
