I think the first time he actually did it was on the MTV video music awards? Or maybe the grammys?

OMG I remember when I was a little kid my one uncle was a MJ freak and could do the moonwalk. buahahaha picture a grown, overweight man doing the moonwalk...
 
He didn't start it. Unless I'm mistaken, moonwalking was featured in the 1980 movie Xanadu, by one of the breakdancers in the final dance scene.

Well... go ahead, ridicule the man... but I still respect him for his singing and dancing abilities. One of the greatest popper's I've ever seen... of course I probably haven't seen half the underground people that could put MJ to shame...
