When did Google add this to its home page?

Maybe they're running some kind of test? I can see this only on IE, specifically only on IE7 on the desktop. IE6 and every other browser show no change.

This is just weird.

For me, going to the google.com, it's in the middle above the search field. I thought it was there for a while. I just never used it.

It's is a contraction for it is, while its shows possession.

It's not really an addition, more of a change, at least for the OP.

The links that are normally above the search text box are now in the upper left corner of the page.

Google makes changes small-and-often. They will sometimes trial a particular feature with a set of users from a given network subnet; for example Excite@Home users often get to see new features. They aren't told of this, just presented with the new UI and observed how they use it.

Interesting.

Also, the links appear on top only for the main Google home page and the image search page. Rest of it (news, maps, etc.) look the same.

So the purpose of the thread is to discuss the links moving to a different part of the page? C'mon people....don't you have more important things in your life to care about?
