When did backing into parking spots become the new hotness?

Your camera is not going to help you see cars coming. Unless you got those fancy multi camera ones with side cameras.

My van has the sonar sensors that pickup and "beep" from cars that are coming from blind spots. It can pick up stuff from the corners of the bumpers that the camera can't see. It's saved my ass several times from people hauling ass through a parking lot that you can't see coming.

That's nice, but is not on all the cars.

More retards buying big pick-up trucks. The problem is that the people that do it are HORRIBLE at it. If it takes you pulling in and out 3 times to fit correctly then you clearly suck at it and need to stop.

It was my first thought when I read the thread and it took page 2 for someone to say it. Congrats! You win!

Yeah....people are using the backup cameras because they're there...and take the mirror work out of judging distance. Where I work, we all have permits and they require us to pull in all normal. We can't showboat and back in because it would make the lazy parking enforcement assholes have to get out of their golf carts to do their jobs.
If it took you to get to page 2 to see mention of backup camera, then you can't read very well.

I can't stand those fucking beeps. When i was getting my gas tank replaced the rental altima I had had one of those lights on the sides that turn on when someone is in your blindspot. And they beep too when you make a lane change and they are still on. The problem is they are on when you have plenty of room to get over, and they just beep like shit when you have plenty of room to make a lane change. I didn't look to see if there was an option to turn it off but I'm guessing no.

no idea but this shit needs to stop. most people cant drive forwards correctly yet are trying to back into parking spaces just wasting everyones time
