As long as the Government of Israel is ruled by Netanyuhu, and his coalition of crazed settler parties, peace and progress between Arab, Palestinians, and Israelis will not occur until either one or the another condition occurs. (a) Rational Israelis give Bozo Netanyuhu and his coalition of crazed idiots the ole heave ho. (b) The world community does the same thing that they did to the Apartheid State of State of South Africa, and slap an economic embargo on them.

Since neither A or B is now happening, que in another P&N pissing contest as we keep kicking rationality ever further down the road as the issue festers and gets more and more ever dangerous.

Your question EK is somewhat conditional on whom Israel wants to deal with. Israel can easily make peace with a non-violent entity like Fatah and Abbas, or if Israel feels froggie they can deal with Hamas, and every stateless terrorist on the planet.

As for their previous Israeli friends in Turkey, Jordon, and Egypt, Bozo Netanyuhu has alienated them in the space of a single year.

As for Germany and the EU, with Merkel being the last friend in the EU Israel could count on, Bozo Netanyuhu done totally alienated Germany in the past week or so.

Yup you are right EK, Israel is really on a roll as they drag the USA into total diplomatic isolation.

Both sides are guilty of many things. However I do agree that you can't exactly expect Israel to give up territory that it won to a people that doesn't agree they should exist.

I could have sworn though that Fatas had acknowledged their right to exist while Hamas had not.

There is no State of Palestine at this point.

The Arabs were against it back in the pre '48 time frame.

A state of Palestine only became a topic of discussion when Jordan lost the West Bank in '67 conflict.

There was no talk of a Palestinian state when the Arabs controlled the land.

Unless there will be a western supported coup to put in a different leadership (Egypt, Libya, etc)

2. All Members, in order to ensure to all of them the rights and benefits resulting from membership, shall fulfill in good faith the obligations assumed by them in accordance with the present Charter.

3. All Members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.

4. All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.


Kind of hard to be a member of a club if you refuse to accept another member of the club. Like trying to join the MLB with a new team, but proclaiming that you will never play the Yankees because you don't like them.
