I'm 23, and don't really follow closely. Got a lot more things to learn besides politics :|

Lets see, when J.F.K. was assassinated and people began protesting the Vietnam war draft and the Jim Crow laws. Trust me, if the reality of the suffering of people around you ever slaps you in the face you may suddenly find an interest in politics.

Stay away if you possibly can. Politics let's you see just how nasty people can get, and that turns you into a cynic.

But to answer your question, abortion is what got me interested in politics, and that happened when I read The Unaborted Socrates in 6th grade.

i'm 39 and don't give a crap about politics.
most of the people who 'care' about politics, do so from their armchair, like the whackjobs in p&n.

if you 'care' about politics, you're running a campaign. you're not complaining about it from the sidelines.

Around the time that George W Bush got us into an unnecessary war in Iraq. I was so against it because it was such bullshit that I started paying more attention to politics.

I don't care enough about politics beyond bitching about things on this forum. I told myself that one day I was going to start writing letters to politicians about my concerns, but that day has not arrived.

We are all doomed anyway due to the Idiocracy evolutionary trends.

It was 50 years ago and I found politics and science both very interesting. I started to study both. It's been fun.

I wouldn't call it an interest in politics, but I have been interested in government (or the workings of government) since high school.

So, ... that would be what, two years ago?

Got into a few student government activities in high school, up to a couple years in Harvard MUN. I'm more interested in the theory of politics. I care not for the quasi-religious attitude a lot of people have in it that prevents me from getting more involved.

Approximately 1968 when Vietnam really began to ramp up (and I was a few years from draft age). Became an obsession from Watergate on-Watergate was the best TV series ever.

Mid 60s , my folks were Kennedy Democrats and my father had strong ties to labor, so political discussions around the dinner table.

Many years ago when in grade school JFK being catholic and all . But that wasn't what set my course in life .

Here is a movie I couldn't find the full 2 hour 53 min version that is on utube but this is 1/18 of that movie . This isn't really about religion . Not one person here will lose by watching this . Its something you should know and if you watch you will gain 2x in your present understandings of many things that effect us today . This is a must view movie . Its only 2 hours of your life for a life time of knowledge of how we got to were we are and how the Powerful got much of its stupid ideas . This movie is in reality about america today . Watch and gain understanding . Its as political as it gets. you won't see solomon look inside the ark in this movie but he did.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxyKPLLx_GI If someone finds the full 2:53min version add that link much has been removed from this version. Here it is watch this its better than higher education can teach you.
