Windows update makes impressive uptime hard to achieve. I take it your WinXP is open to a few RPC exploits.

Um, regardless of whether you use Windows Update or not, a windows machine will always be open to a few RPC exploits and such.

I had to shut down last night to change the mouse and keyboard when I gave the Logitech MX Duo I bought for my GF a try on my system.

It was good, but I it was hard to get used to for FPS games. No lag, but when I picked up the mouse to place it back at center again, it didn't respond like my ball mouse does. It keeps getting input to move long after my ball mouse would stop dead. A bad thing in the middle of a firefight.
 
This is pretty self explanatory.

Also, uptime.exe has a bug that seems to reset itself after 50 days! Most people probably don't notice. LOL

Windows 2003 Server will write an event every day in the event viewer that shows the system uptime in seconds. Those numbers get quite large.

Thanks for the systeminfo - works in Win2k3 also.

I've been up for 8 days and 10 hours. Last reboot was for updates. (This is for my Poweredge server). I turn my PC off everynight.
 
WinXP - only hour and a half - time for a format soon.
Right-clicking on just about anything, or using the Win95 key + E to open Explorer will lock the Explorer.exe process.
I'm getting a new motherboard soon though, so there's a good excuse anyway.

I no longer even care about uptime. Windows XP coupled with BootVis has my system starting up so fast (way faster than Win2K) that I don't mind rebooting. Also, I don't go very long without working on the inside or installing some new software that I am trying out so I am often shutting down or rebooting. The most I may go is maybe a four days if I am too busy or don't feel like doing anything but gaming or chatting.

I can't beat you tranceport, but our old Novell server at work was on for about 750 days until we switched it off about 3 weeks ago to replace it with a new one 🙁

The switching off is such a sad moment around here.. We recently powered down some pentium pro's... RIP.
 
Don't have a Windows machine that is not a laptop. My other machines have been up between 12 and 14 days due to OS upgrades.
