I know it's not the most meaningful measure of system performance, but with many people getting Sandy Bridge I thought it would be fun to compare :p

Please post a pic and your basic hardware setup:

Me? I just didn't (past tense!) need to upgrade, so I didn't. I also saw the Sandy Bridge preview, so I decided to wait for that. I'll be getting Sandy Bridge before too long.

Lol if you have lasted this long wait another year for socket 2011 :D

With the build setup as is, everything is 7.4 except the hard drive, which is 5.9.

When I was testing a VDI deployment about a year back, I ran the Windows 7 WEI test on a virtual machine stored on an HP EVA 4000 SAN with about 80 10,000RPM 4Gb Fibre Channel disks that was worth about $250,000. Sustained throughput was about 500MB/s, and that was without MPIO functioning.

The WEI disk score? 6.2

:\

Splurge on a SSD ;) you won't regret it.

I'm not really too concerned, yet.

I haven't encountered a game yet that slows my PC down at all, even at max settings. And as this is primarily a gaming PC, that's my metric for evaluation.

That said, it's nice to know where my "weaknesses" lie so to speak for the future. ;)
