speaking about sashimi...

I heard from my friend that there was this guy who eat sashimi all his life (japanese guy perhaps??), he tought that it would make him healthy..

suddenly he got a strong headache... then he went to the hospital... and the doctors found out that there are worms living in his brain.. ewww...
my friends said that there were also pictures of this...

is this true or just another urban legend??

Urban legend, cited earlier in this thread with a link. The pictures provided are of another circumstance, as explained on snopes.

And darn you all, now I want sushi and I can't afford to go get it!

Tempura is easy. crab roll easy. to be honest i'm not sure what unagi is, i'm not as familiar with the american terminology for japanese foods.

unagi is barberqued eel

yep maybe its easy... but it is much easier for me just to go to a restaurant... also I like to eat multiple kinds of sushi at one sitting... so it is much easier to go to a rest compared to making them urself

My father in law HATES eating japanese, the portions are soo small. :)

i think koreans in general eat more than japanese.

bbqued eel sounds nice and DISGUSTING. :)

Yeah, it can get expensive... i go once in awhile to the more expensive places, but with friends, i'll just hit an all you can eat buffet. Although there definitely is a difference in the quality and diversity.
One of the nice things about working at a wall st. firm (perhaps the only nice thing) is the free dinners. Sushi is our top pick for ordering because they deliver the food so damn fast (sometimes it worries me that the sushi has just been sitting around all day). In any case, some of the people I work with go nuts eating 6+ spider or dragon rolls every night (the rolls have 5 or 6 pieces each). Just thinking about eating that much rice at once makes me sick...

I guess that I'm a Sushi rookie. I've never downed more than 12 rolls in a single sitting.

Also, all those Salmon ads that I'm seeing on the left are making me hungry :)

I hope you don't think I eat 50 rolls normally. 12 is usually enough to make me pretty full. 20 is when I have a good appetite. 30 is pushing it. 40 hurts. 50, I was gagging. i just did it to beat my buddies :) I have no idea how someone eats 80-90, I don't think that's physically possible for me.

I have no clue...not too many. Sushi kicks ass, though, and I'm a fat white kid from the 'burbs. ;)
