I'm back and forth on the Note.
Pro:
Awesome screen
Would make a tablet unnecessary
Cons:
Maybe too big, I have to carry in a shirt pocket
GSM only so far (not/announced on/for Verizon)
I'm also torn on that one. Coming from a Nexus One, I don't want all of Samsung's crap on the phone, and I'd love ICS. I was ready to get the new Galaxy Nexus but the Note devastates it hardware-wise (larger screen, Gorilla glass, SD slot, faster processor, faster GPU).
What nearly sealed it for me was the white version (I never imagined I'd like that but I do) and the reported battery life in the Engadget review - almost 10 hours of video playback. I also exclusively use BT headset and don't want to buy a tablet. And it's scheduled to receive ICS pretty soon.
The Galaxy Nexus is still awesome, but man, look at around 4:30 in the video I've linked to, legible full page, desktop quality rendering of web pages in the palm of your hand... it's very hard to resist.
Ultimately though there'll be another Nexus phone in a year so I think I'll take the risk and go with the Note.
By the way, it appears like people fit it in their pants pockets no problem. I don't know how but there are some videos on Youtube showing that. I guess the thinness really helps.
Wow. I don't keep up with phones at all. Still using a 3GS. Question I have is why the f@ck would anyone buy an iPhone anymore? Seriously? I love mine but holy crap the iPhone looks old and dated compared to the Note. Also could I get the Netflix app for the note?
You might want to look and see the price on a "cheap" 1tb drive.New hard drives for me FreeNAS box. Built in 2006 with 6x500GB drives. TB drives are so cheap now and considering the age of the drives it's time to upgrade.
