You people are crazy. Wendy's, Arby's, and Popeye's are some of the best FF places out there.

Burger Kings, on the other hand, are awful.. AWFUL!

KFC is absolutely disgusting.

Unless you just don't like fried chicken, how can you consider KFC disgusting? Uninventive, bland,or average, I can see. But disgusting?

For those reasons, yes, I find it disgusting. I also don't like greasy chicken.

I know people actually enjoy their food, I just don't get it, though.

:p

Several years ago I owuld have said Hardees, but their new burgers are fucking awesome!

Of the places I've been, McDonald's is probably now the worst.

Goes in phases, and depends on individual stores. In my experience, KFC is almost always poorly managed and the chicken-like product has been sitting out under those heat lamps for what looks like months. I rarely go there but when I do I'm always disappointed.

While typing this up I realized a pattern... I was thinking how often I eat there, often enough that I can say they are the bottom of the list but also admitting I've been to KFC often enough to rank them... quite sad really. In thinking about it further, I believe that when I do go to KFC it's historically because I've been in a rut and eating too much other fast food. When I consider them it's because I'm looking for something different. I know that I always hesitate, sometimes putting the choice off for yet another day, but eventually I cave. Eventually I recognize that it's been a while, maybe years, and perhaps they've changed. It's like medicine though because soon after (about 1 bite into the meal) I convince myself to eat healthier and it works for at least some period of time. So I'm thankful to them for that.

Burger King. Eww.

And I'm suprised at the anti-Chipotle sentiment. Around here, the food is always perfect and fresh, and I get a huge buritto and a soda for $6.81. My only complaint is that the salsa really needs to be hotter. Of course, don't go in expecting mexican food. It's at best white-mexican. If I want real mexican, I'll go to one of the shops down the street.

Jack In the Box or Wendy's, if there was a WhiteCastle near me I'd probably add that also to the gross places list.

Worst: Burger King, Taco Bell.

Mediocre: McDonalds (At least the packaging is clean).

Best: Panera/ABC, Qdobe/Moes/Chipotle. French Onion + Bread Bowl = Winnar!!

"While any meal with low preparation time can be considered to be fast food, such as TV dinners, typically the term refers to food which is cooked in bulk in advance, kept warm or reheated to order, and sold ready-to-eat from an outlet." - wikipedia

I go by that definition, so I don't see how chipotle or panera bread can even be put into the same catagory as "real" fastfood like mcdonalds.

My least favorite is probably white castle, even though there aren't any around here. But I really never eat real fastfood unless it's 2am and I need to eat something after having a few drinks out.

Taco Bell. It's not the taste, but I haven't been able to digest my past 5-6 meals there. And I do okay at every other fast food place.

Sonic Drive In is my vote for worst food. While they have good shakes and Cherry Limeades, the burgers are expensive, dry, and flavorless. Also, the root beer floats are made with soft serve and Barg's Root Beer...double whammy....they fail.

Wendy's is hit or miss, but the Spicy Chicken Sandwich saves them for me.

Taco Bell is definitely questionable, but they have a decent $1 menu and you can grab something quick and cheap as long as you have all your tetanus shots up to date.

McD's and BK are hit or miss depending on where you are. Employees make or break the operation. A bad manager will let the quality slip so bad you'll be standing at the counter for 20 minutes before you get your order. Definitely don't drink the coffee unless the employees look like you can trust them. I've had McDonald's coffee that tasted like an armpit before.

Arby's. What can I say? Greasy fries and sub-standard buns. At least the roast beef is good sometimes. Don't even think about eating that cheese sauce on a sandwich...it's simply disgusting.

Krystal & White Castle - These don't classify as fast food. They're drunk food. You should only go to either location between 3am and 9am. I highly recommend the Krystal Chiks. If you do happen to order some sliders, I don't envy what your colon has to go through for the next 3 hours after consumption. Enjoy.

I totally agree on both points.

The Hardees six-dollar burger is the best fast food hamburger available on the planet, period.

For reasons that only the voices in her head could tell you, my wife likes Sonic. Sonic food tastes just like elementary school food. I had enough of that growing up. <retch>

Isn't Hardees pretty much the same as Carl's Jr. ? I remember visiting a few when I was back east, and the menu looked very similar with a few exceptions to our (west coast) Carls Jr.

...

answered my own ?, thanks wiki ;)

In 1997, the chain was acquired by CKE Restaurants, the parent company of the Carl's Jr. fast-food restaurant chain. (Imasco retained the few remaining Roy Rogers locations, though CKE is reported to do some supplying of them). Over time, some Hardee's restaurants were converted to serve the relatively higher-quality hamburgers and other products available from Carl's Jr., and also took on the Carl's Jr. star logo in the process. Some locations were simply fully-rebranded Carl's Jr.

I usually don't eat fast food. But if I do, only place is Chik Fil A. Maybe Long John Silvers. Or Foster's Freeze. On occasion Wienerschnitzel.

QFT. I had forgotten about Sonic.

It's one of the few fast food places I really dislike.

I can remember back when they were building checkers left and right expanding into Florida back round 1995-6. There were bar none the best fast food burger place I ever ate at. While going to college from 95-99 I would eat there at least 3 days a week.

Round 2000 or so they started cutting corners and have continued to do so to the point that the quality of service and the food is a far, far cry from what it was in its heyday.

I remember their chicken sandwich costing $2.50 and it was damn good (in 1997). Last week I ordered a chicken sandwich from them it was .99 and was a bun, mayo, breading, and chicken substrate. Also they screwed up my order, the order of the guy in front of me and the order of the guy after me.

The main problem with fast food places is that they are under the "Wal-Mart" effect where price is the main (and sometimes only) concern.

I am not blaming the companies for doing this. They are just following the demands of America's consumer majority where quantity comes above quality.
