Whats your "gmail status?"

got one, no where close to as big of a deal as people are making.

not to mention there are already a few other accounts that offer more storage.

The one thing I like about gmail is that it doesn't have to re-load the page to perform an action... it's much quicker.

EDIT>>> well at least it doesn't appear to refresh the whole page, it's so quick at doing it, it looks like it's just javascripting stuff over... I thought firefox was quick at page loading... this is in IE too.

why does everyone need so much storage for email?

Honestly, my mom will be the first person I am going to invite. She loves keeping all the forwarded email... her friends and all send her something ever 5 minutes and she likes to keep them online (not download to Outlook)... I don't know why she likes it that way but as I said, I'll invite her first so she won't need 10 email adresses.

You should check out the mail server that I use. 10 gig of storage space. It's called having my own damn server setup and not jumping on the bandwagon.

How much do you pay per month for hosting with 10gb storage?

Really don't care now that Yahoo! upped their accounts to 100MBs.

It took my about 8 yrs to fill up 6MBs. I wonder how many it will take to fill up 100?

Only cost me a case of beer 😀 Friend of mine is letting me use his colocated server.

Yes, it's all JS. very fast. That's what I like so much about it.

lol.
gmail isn't just the space.
have you seen the interface, and use the features?
try it first, and then you can compare it to the others.

And how can you compare this to Gmail then? 🙂 You got lucky and got something for free. It would cost you at least $15-20/month to have such hosting... and that's "AT LEAST" 😉

I just got upgraded to 100MB Yahoo email for free, so I don't need Gmail and it's invasive email scanning and ads. Kudos to Yahoo.

Plus I have my own domain for family members and friends to use.
