Back down to $3.89 at the Aberdeen Safeway. Still hanging at $4.59 here at the Shell station.

Looks like the name brand stations went up .30 in the last two days. That with WTI oil being between 56-60/barrel.

I read a little blurb a couple day's ago that two California refineries were shutting down next year and because of that gas in the state might go over $8 a gallon.

It'll be interesting to see if this administration builds any new refineries. That's been one of my benchmarks for how serious they are about their energy policy.

WTI slumped in Early April but has shot back up to a little above where it was. But yeah it was a sudden move up. 30-something cents looks about right.

Thursday, going through Aberdeer, WA, gas was $4.19. Stopped in Salem, OR at the Costco, $3.55. On the way back through Salem yesterday...$3.69 at the same Costco. Still $4.19 here.

Isn't it more of a state thing than Federal?
California works hard at keeping gas prices high, and are pretty successful at it. I would guess that building a new refinery there would be nearly impossible.

Last time I put gas in one vehicle was Feb 25th. I had to double check to see if that was right, but the odometer only shows 281 miles since then.

The other one has been filled three times since Nov '24 for a total of just under 700 miles driven.

I watch gas prices and try to get what discounts I can, but with that level of driving, it doesn't really matter much.

I'm still using Kroger rewards points and almost never pay retail for gas. Last fill up was $1.04 discount so $1.65 a gallon. I get the points from my Krogers credit card, which never carry's a balance.
Filling my truck for $36 always feels like a win.
