WTF are you talking about?

The SNES had one of the most advanced sound processors ever put into a video game system and some of the best game soundtracks ever. CD quality symphony orchestra stuff. No bleep blop buzz BS there.

Nonsense. Show me a SNES game with music that has a significant amount of harmony. It had excellent sampling capabilities for its time but it was still limited to fairly basic melodic and lyric composition. Which certainly sticks in your head more than anything else but it's still pretty basic stuff.

Actraiser blew my mind too, but that was only in comparison to the crappy FM synthesis of the previous era. Sure, it's all quite memorable but so is Friday by rebecca black. In reality it's nothing close to what a real orchestra or even a decent synth is capable of.

Sega Genesis was the first console I owned, that I bought more than a handful of games for. PS1 was another winner.

Sega Saturn, singlehandedly the most underrated, unappreciated console of all time. A system that had so much potential, yet was doomed because of marketing flaws and the incompetence of Sega of Japan.

Ps1 for sure. So much better than the lame ass N64(cartridge WTF?????)

Console gaming died when they stopped using carts. CD load times were brutal. Now we have DVDs and BRDs and they suck too. Try the minute load times in Mass Effect 2:

Fallout 3 and New Vegas had similar load times when changing areas. Duke Nukem Forever is nearly unplayable because of how slow it is.

SNES was the best. Big library of games, good sound, good enough graphics, and it was still 2D. N64 sucked because lots of games started to go 3D.

Probably the PSX/PSOne because it was the first system to have real FMVs and had a ton of very cool exclusive games. Then there was the Xbox which introduced Halo and showed the world that console FPS can work well. Of course the classic Sega Genesis and SNES with their collection of amazing titles. From Zelda: link to the Past and Super Mario World to Streets Of Rage and Phantasy Star IV.

Well, then there's the current systems which bring HD graphics and all...

Man what's with this question? It's impossible to answer

Oh and does anyone remember the CD drive add on for the SNES that didn't work out? Nintendo said it was too expensive and gave up on the project. Sony took what they had and made the PS1. I bet Nintendo had stuck with Sony on that deal now.

No love for the 3DO? hehe, I spent 1k on that system. Loved some of the 3do developer games but it was so fail. First Madden and NFS games tho.

Anyway, I plugged in and booted up my old Atari 800XL computer the other day and played some Moon Patrol. man, I loved that system and the games were awesome! PLayed some leather goddeses of phobos too. Was surprised my 30yr old 5 1/4 floppies mostly worked!

3DO, another amazing piece of technology at the time that failed because of poor marketing and direction. The first Need for Speed is quite an acheivement for the time.

I'd have to go with the Dreamcast. It was way ahead of its time and was an all around beast.

-Keyboard and mouse
-modem and broadband connectivity
-seganet
-comfortable controllers
-memory sticks that acted like small controllers
-accessories up the wazzu...car wheels and pedals, guns, fishing rods, musical instruments

Not to mention some pretty amazing games. I've got about 10 consoles and at least 10 games for each one. I still play the dreamcast the most
