IMO, Ruth Chris is highly overrated and overpriced for what you get. The last time I went there (December), I ordered a ribeye and it was incredibly fatty. And I don't mean the good kind of fat where it's marbelized and melts. It was pure fat and they overcooked it (ordered it medium rare). I wasn't impressed with the sides either. Not for the price anyway. I've had better steaks at The Palm, Morton's and even Texas Roadhouse to be honest.

I prefer a home-cooked steak. I get the exact cut I want, season it the way I want and cook it to the degree that I like it. And I can do it for a fraction of what I'd spend at a fancy steak house.

Timber's Chop House in London (Canada). They cook a great steak, great prime rib, and the rest of the menu (especially their Caesar salad) is great too.

The Keg here cooks a good steak too.
