i want to put in another vote for Animals - i just listened to it for the first time yesterday and probably six times since then. it's goooooooooooooooood.

when you listen to it, think Orwell's Animal Farm.

All that you touch, and all that you see.
All that you taste, all you feel.
and all that you love, and all that you hate,
All you distrust, all you save.
and all that you give, and all that you deal.
and all that you buy, beg, borror or steal
and all you create, and all you destroy.
and all that you do, and all that you say.
and all that you eat, and everyone you meet.
and all that you ______ and everyone you fight
and all that is now, and all that is gone.
and thats to come, and everything's _________
and the sun is in tune by ________ eclipse by the moon..........

i love that part!, I just dont know what he says in the blanks. Hard to hear.

danny~!

Aside from the two albums that you own, Wish You Were Here and Meddle are two essential ones. Echoes from Meddle is IMHO Pink Floyd at its best.

Whew, you can't pick one single song 🙂 So far, I can say I've liked every single Pink Floyd song I've heard. "Bike" is pretty whack, but I love it! Of course the obligatory "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" CD's rock. "Welcome to the Machine, Have a Cigar, High Hopes" All very good songs.

Oh, the song not on The Wall, "When the tigers broke free" It's at the beginning of the DVD if you've ever seen the movie as with another that was not included which is "What shall we do now"--Now that I think of it, I think the last one is the best. "Two Suns in the Sunset" is very close...

There ya go...My favorite albums are DSOTM and WYWH. There's a cool shockwave animation for WYWH. You could probably find it at shockwave.com if you do a search. I'd give you the direct link, but I'm out of town and don't have access to it. It was done by the guy who worked with them on a lot of their albums and did a lot of their cover art. I think it's either Guthrie or Storm Thorgenson(sp?). Anyway, it's really cool.

Wish You Were Here another vote for.

Why don't you guys like Division Bell? I like it a lot. Not my favorite, but I still like it.

I'm a big fan of the whole Dark side of the moon album, particularly Us and Them. Wish you here and Animals is great. I like a few songs off the Wall but I was never too fond of the Wall movie, I don't think that it is all it's cracked up to be. Another favorite is Dogs off of Animals. The Division Bell is mediocre compared to Floyds old stuff but it would be considered decent if it came from a different band.🙂 The live album "Delicate Sound of Thunder" was far better than Pulse IMO.

Wow... I didn't respond to this the first time? This question has been asked here a lot so maybe I'm thinking of one of the other threads.

DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

The whole song cycle is friggin' genious. I swear I don't think I've ever heard a more perfect album. But "I celebrate their entire catalog" 🙂
