What's your favorite metal or hard rock riff?

At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Slayer - Raining Blood
Metallica - One
Soilwork - No More Angels (specifically at 2:45, this is really just a part of the song rather than a specific riff, the squealing guitar makes me wet 😀)

edited to include link to song.

I'll go with:

Slayer - South Of Heaven

Just because its my favourite song from DooM and that earns it some points...

Tool has a ton of them that I love.

Schism, Right in Two, Jambi, Stinkfist, The Pot, etc...

And don't forget Stairway To Heaven.

Not sure but they're all CKY. Deron Miller writes kickass riffs.

He is really something to see live, if you haven't already, you need to.
I did see them back in I think 2004, it was the show right after Vern left the band and Chad played bass that night.

I'd like to see them again but I don't think they're talking to each other right now so I dunno what's gonna happen. They better not break up, I'll be pissed! Haha.

Its been a while, I last saw them in 2002.

Iron Maiden's Paschendale has some pretty awesome riffs.

I like pretty much every Tool riff as well. Porcupine Tree's Trains has an amazing intro riff too.

No mention of Hendrix yet?

All Along the Watchtower is extremely recognizable.

Intro to Purple Haze/ Voodoo Chile.

People are just listing every song ever written now. The thread is about your favorite riff. Dumbasses. Anyway, Enter Sandman is pretty brilliant.

thats because Dylans version is better

I beg to differ. half the people don't even know its a Dylan cover.

But to each their own.

Too bad it's such a shitty song.

Enter Sandman by ted nugent is better

I was going to say something like this as well but then just decided to say Motorhead's cover of Cat Scratch Fever gives me wood.

I appreciate the careful consideration that went into your insightful reply.
