what about Gumby's?

The Pizza is god-awful cardboard with low rent toppings, but their Pokey Stix destroy all your bases.

Going slightly OT from my own OP, but since you guys have been mentioning good pizza...one of the places I mentioned locally, Lazy Moon, make pretty damn good hand tossed pizza, and they're huge. First place I ever saw that makes a 30" pizza, and they use boars head for all their toppings, so the toppings are great. They also have lots of really good beer. Place is great.

Had Gumby's up in Tally a few years back, but I was so drunk from all the $5 32oz rum and cokes at Bullwinkle's to remember eating it...lol.

'tis also a shame that Pizza Inn gets so little love these days, especially when you consider that they blessed upon our world the glorious host known as "The Pizzert."

there is nothing to remember, heh. It's not CiCi's bad, but it is completely unremarkable. I believe they are almost exclusively attached to college towns, because of late night delivery, super cheap for huge amounts of food.

It's amazing, really--how bad the pizza can be when the Pokey Stix are so damn awesome (just cheese bread with dipping sauce)

Toppers is based in Wisconsin.

Never heard of Pizza Pizza before though. Read up on Wikipedia and I guess they sold their name to Little Caesars to allow them to use it as their slogan?

It's a different Toppers. The American and Canadian ones aren't related.

Pizza Pizza is one of those chains that's been around forever. It's probably up there with Tim Hortons on the pantheon of Canadian fast food legends. It's not related to Little Caesars.

Exactly!!! :)

You buy your pizza handmade from the Italian family who's (great)grandfather started the business 150 years ago.. and who probably hand built the (same) oven (they're still using) when he started the place.

And don't even get me started on Knishes!
And I would absolutely love to have access to pizza like that, but I don't, and neither does the majority of the population, so we make do with what we've got.

Yeah, their pizza's only so-so, but the Pizzert is pure sex.

Of the ones you have i chose Papa Johns, but locally we have Pizza Shoppe, D'Bronx and Johnny Brusco's which are much better pizza. Also costs more which is the only downside. But i find it worth the expense.

Papa Johns > Dominos new recipe > Pizza Hut > Little Caesars > Dominos old recipe

I worked at Little Caesars for several years while I was in school and I could make a pretty good tasting pizza by using a generous portion of sauce, cheese, and toppings to make up for the poor quality of the dough. It was also much better when fresh out of the oven.

Now, about the only time I buy Little Caesars is if I'm trying to feed a lot of people cheaply and don't care about the pizza being good. Dominos isn't great, but it's 100 times better than it used to be.

1. Papa Murphys (Gives you a shit ton of toppings, cheap, layered ftw)
2. Costco (Tons of topping, tastes great and cheap)
3. Round Table (Albeit more expensive but tastes better than the other pizza chains, imo)

I'd rather buy good pizza. If I'm buying cheap pizza, then I choose Little Ceasers because it's the fastest (Hot and ready), and it's like $5 a pie. Also, their pizza is the best tasting of the options IMO.

That said, I go to good, medium sized chains a lot (Lou Malnati's, Rosati's, Gino's East) or the little local pizza joints (in Wauconda IL, Luigi's Pizza or Panhandlers Pizza.)

Papa John's is vomitous. Pizza isn't supposed to be sweet like candy.

There's a place around here called "Pizza Balls". I've never gotten the courage to check it out.

Ultimately, I have to agree with Navin Johnson, the best pizza available is Cup o' Pizza.

I like little ceasars, the $5 pizza and breadsticks here is awesome, but dominos is much better for $6. Papa murphys 2 topping tuesdays is better here for $6.66.

the top 3 are a toss up to me now that dominoes has improved. We tend to get it only due to proximity. Costco is preferred over those and now Donatos is near the top of my chain pizza list.
