Microprocessor Interfacing

Basically, doing cool things with microcontrollers and learning about how processors work in the process.

None really. I kinda wish I hadn't gone to college. I've had a lot of fun outside school, but no class I've taken has nostalgic.

I will say though, that the engineering projects I've undertaken are probably my choice, only because working with other people always turns out fun. I take the boring out of group projects and make it my bitch.

I took a comm class my soph year, it was 17 girls and 3 guys.

I always got so nervous before each speech, but as soon as I got up there, I was cool as a cucumber. Easiest A in college. Also, group speeches with 4 other hot girls was extremely nice.

Am only in my first semester, ever!

But I like ENG 111 because after so many years I am finally learning how to write.

C++ class was pretty fun. About 4 semesters, and they always started off with like a 2 month review of C++. We were not even allowed to use stuff like arrays or loops until we were at that point, which, we went over again every semester. The last two months or so actually got a bit more advanced, but nothing overly complicated.

That said, I was usually done in class work pretty quick, so I'd goof off writing random programs such as this one program that opened solitaire until the PC crashed. The class would be all quiet while everyone is working, and here I am done, screwing around and causing my pc to crash for fun and profit. We never even touched concepts like C++ sockets, windows GUIs, graphics, etc. The most advanced non primitive thing was file i/o and even that was rather simple. No parsing or anything. In a way I was discouraged, as when I first started the class I was really hoping for it to be very complicated stuff that is also useful, such as advanced sockets, graphics, and so on.

Digital Logic Design, Computer Arch. and VLSI were favorite classes in my major.

AI and Digital and Experimental Music were my favorites outside my major.

Mass Communication. I learned more truly interesting shit in that one class than I did in all the others combined.

Yeah, you're putting us on. But really, last time I was in school (and pretty poor), I figured that staring in a porn movie would be a dream job.

I had a great professor for my music appreciation class. It was two semesters and it was classical music, from about the time of the rennaissance up to around 1900. Well, maybe there was some 20th century, but I don't remember (long time ago). The prof was passionate without being off puttingly demonstrative. He got a huge standing ovation at the end of the class, something I don't remember seeing elsewhere. I was already passionate about classical music, but I got turned on to some great music in the class.

Other classes I got a lot out of: Economics (it fulfilled a requirement), English Literature. The American History class I took (at a JC during the summer) was very different from what I experienced in grade school. It somehow came to life... 19th century, up through the Civil War.

So far, (freshman) Calculus II.

I was in honors calculus as a freshman, and I aced it. The prof was really good and he was quite personable. He gave you something of himself, and we were glad. He eventually went on to become head of the department.

I did that last night! Interviewed Ringers from the Eastern seaboard on KALX, Berkeley 90.7 FM after they played live in our performance space for 1/2 hour. I've been a DJ there for years and years. The station has 1/2 student DJs and 1/2 community members.
