What's your favorite 80's car?

The Z32 launched as a 1990 model late in 1989 and ran through 96 (in the states at least) so I think you're thinking the in wrong decade here. That said, pignose S13 240SX's were pretty sweet, but I'm going to have to go with the 944 Turbo here. That, the Merkur XR4Ti, or the GN. At a glance it seems like the 80's were a pretty low point, but there were still plenty of gems to be had.

If it launched in 1989 it's an '80s car, so it's you in the wrong. End of story.

One of my favorites:

rapidly the thread becomes "what car from the 80s that you will never be able to buy";

so my new entry is an original McLaren F1

Not necessarily. I still wouldn't mind an '87 Porsche 911 Turbo and they're somewhat affordable now considering their age.

Oh and not to mention, by your definition then, the Z32 300ZX would also have been a 2000's era car as well since it was sold through 2000 in Japan....

My father bought one of these in 1989. I thought it was the greatest looking car ever. He had a manual and took down a lot of nice cars on the highway.

This car started my infatuation with cars in general. His was a bone stock 1986 Maxima.

Are you seriously trolling or linked a modded maxima on purpose?

I mentioned his was bone stock. 🙂

His was not nearly as nice as the one I linked. His looked exactly like this.

I had a 1985 that looked just like that one,but a midnight blue, was a $800 beater that just never quit and got me many places for a while and was really reliable.

Ended up trading it for a project 74 plymouth duster which kept me busy for a while.

It had the 300z drivetrain in it,spec wise it can go 0-60 i think in 8.5sec,not bad for a grocery getter.

There is not a single car from either the 80's or 90's that I would ever want to own. They are not old enough to have any nostalgia for me.

80s and 90s are different. Dont lump them together. The funny thing about the 90s is many of the cars from that era combine a nice mixture of technology and raw fun.

I give you the 80s is hard unless you go European market with a bunch of cool hatches and 3 liter bmws.

Supra, FD RX7, 300zx and the M3s from the 90s are still relevant today. Heck some styling imo looks better than the fat overly angular crap were being fed today.

forgot to mention that Maxima looked sick!

my father has an 89 monte aerocoupe. very cool car and rare black paint with fawn interior and factory gold accents and wheels with about 20k miles on it. 1 of about 6000 made, and one of only a handfull with that color combo.
