My credit score is so high, the banks are trying to persuade your feds for another debt ceiling increase.

Three years ago, it was just under 800, having been cloned off my parents' rating.

Bank error in your favor - collect awesome interest rates.

What has happened since then, I do not know, I've acquired a lot of student debt, but my CC is doing fine.

No idea. Don't care. Check my annual credit report once a year for inaccuracies, but never get the score.

I too don't care. I've never checked my score and could care less as I have no need for credit.

I'm not bragging ... just recommending the lifestyle to everyone.

Mine is hovering around 700 as of a year ago before I bought my house and car. I don't know if its gone up or down since.

I used to have perfect credit. 800+, but have 2 negatives on my score due to companies trying to scam me, and out of principle I refuse to pay them.

One was $80... :( I had a doctor bill, and I overpaid them by $80 because I had no idea how much the insurance was going to cover so to be on the safe side I paid them more, hoping they'd cut me a refund. They never did. Forgot about it, and 3 years later, I get a notice in the mail that I'm in collections. I called up the doctors office, they told me they went through a system upgrade, that insurance actually paid more than anticipated and I'd get a larger refund than expected... However, the system conversion turned the credit into a debit. They said they'd get it all cleared up and fixed... 6 months later, get another letter from the collection agency saying to pay up. I called the doctor again, and of course... No record of the previous conversation and the lady I talked to doesn't work there anymore. I mentioned the system upgrade they went through to see if its would jog their memory of previous mishaps (I couldn't have been the only one.) They called me a debtor and said this is what happens when you don't pay your bills. I lol'd and told her to fuck off. Still haven't paid it, and won't. :( - Yep thats me, out of the $1500 bill, I decided to not pay them the last $80 and to ruin my credit score just because.

I don't know the exact numbers. They're all over 700. I have nothing damaging on my report and I pay my credit card on time.

The way credit scores work is that everybody has SOMETHING damaging on their credit report. However, the things that can negatively affect you may vary based on your specific credit file.

700'ish; my credit score went down because I paid off a few CC's and accidentally let them expire from non-use. In hindsight I should have made little purchases with them here and there to keep them open.

That would have pissed me right off. I would have been tempted to go down there and settle it in person, but these days they'd probably just call the cops on you for creating a disturbance.

Would you loan someone thousands of dollars if there was a 1 in 5 chance they wouldn't pay up?

Banks use these numbers to get a handle on what kind of risk they are taking with their money. The best rates typically fall in at 720 - from what I've read/been told, 725-ish is the median.

If you seriously have that big of an issue with the credit ratings, it probably means you f'd up and destroyed your credit (someone else's fault or a broken system, obviously), or never bothered to build a credit history.

The only time I've known it was when I got my mortgage 2 years ago. At that time it as 798, 800, 805. And I know I've changed one habit I had that was apparantly bringing my score down a bit, so it's probably either the same or gone up since then.

No idea, I've never checked it, but I've never been denied any credit when I needed it.

I faked my own death many years ago. To circulate my SS# at a time like this would send up a flare signal for those still looking out for me,... damn you Columbia House Music Club!! Why won't you let the 80s go?!?
