702... not too shabby. Should pop up when I drop these CC balances down. I racked up a good $4k in debt while I was in school for the past 4 years. Time to get rid of that.

Man, seeing that "balance" column on my student loans makes me shudder.

I guess that I can't get my report for free. If I had to guess I'd say it was down around 300. I had several bills awhile back where I simply never opened the mail and they ran up to 190 days or whatever. I then promptly paid them off for the full ammount when I found out. But, I bet those really recked my credit history.

It's not as cut and dry as good credit score = automatically approved. BTW, I work for Capital One's Auto Finance division (Peoplefirst/Custom Finance) 😛

I worked at a car dealership for awhile and the highest I saw was an 841 (beacon). Everyone there said it was the highest score they'd ever seen. The lady was test driving an Escalade. . .

well what is funny is that they just approved me on a loan for my Wife's car... so I can buy a car outright and they will finance me but if I try to get my payments lower on my current loan I'm too much of a risk.. that's pretty stupid.

Holy sh*t, I just ran mine on Equifax about 5 min. ago for the first time ever, and I got an 802~! I'm 24 yrs. old, turning 25 in about 3 months.

Dad - 820.
Mom's credit is absolutely HORRIBLE, with NUMEROUS errors and identity theft. My sister decided to use my mom's credit (They share a name, so it apparently wasn't too difficult) to buy 3 cars, wreck all 3, never make a payment on any of them, and attempt to declare bankruptcy.
Me - 0
My sister - 5 times bankrupt.

what exactly does a "Charge Off" mean. A few years back i let my friend use my credit so he was able to get a cell phone then after that we stopped talking and then out of the blue i received a collection letter about the cell phone bill I told them to contact my friend since its his and I dont even talk to him anymore, im pretty sure it was payed by him after that

~483.

That's what happens when you're laid off then unemployed for 2 years and can't pay your bills.

I hear ya...

544, 543, 534. Those are my scores from the various agencies. 6 mos. of unemployment, a divorce, and a new job at 1/2 the original salary. Not much can be done. :frown:

But, picked up a copy of Credit After Bankrtupcy by Stephen Snyder and have been reading various credit forum sites and am going to one anal m.f. in restoring it! 🙂

Took advantage of the free credit check on Hot Deals and it was 78x.

I'm 25, paid off student loan as soon as I graduated and never had any other kind of loan, and balances always paid in full on credit cards.

PrivacyGuard.com is pretty good deal to get THREE credit reports and THREE credit scores. I paid $1 membership fee ($1 for 3 months trial, REMEMBER TO CANCEL!) + $10.
For $1 membership fee, you'll get credit reports from three bureaus - Experian, Equifax and Trans Union + one credit score.
Pay another $10, you'll another two credit scores.

Privacyguard.com is operated by Trilegiant Corporation, who also operates Netmarket.com. They use consumerinfo.com to provide the credit reports and scores.
