Thats why he has water cooling! Pelikan, what kind of temps are you getting with that setup?

I'm not too sure about my temps because the sensor on my NF7-S can vary by 10C between boots. It's probably in the mid 20's under load now that I have a cascade block in there. The water is 10-15C.

As far as burning the cpu, who knows? I'm not too worried about it. This barton has seen 1.9V or more for about six months.

Your voltage really is fine at anything unde 2.0 as long as temps are ok. For everyday use i have my unlocked Aqxea week 34 2500+ @ 2.23 stock 1.65 vcore.

I'm not so sure, ppl use to say that going over 1.75v is not recommended and would kill the CPU. Has anyone tried to go over 1.75v with air cooling and still has is CPU running for months?

After upgrade to Cascade, my 1800+ managed to run at 2606MHz@1.9V with 24x7 stablity. It can even boot into windows at 2735MHz and barely stable enough to run a few benchmarks.

My old Maze4 only got it overclocked to 2.5GHz@1.85V for daily usage. Could never get inside windows at 2.7GHz at any voltage.

I ran a tbred 2100+ and a barton on very good air cooling with 1.9V for months on end. No problems. You have to have good case ventilation and cpu cooling to keep it stable with that voltage though. Watercooling just makes the heat easier to deal with.

2.6GHz@1.9V has been running for almost 3 months 24x7.

For those who don't know a lot about watercooling, Casacade is the most famous and best performancing waterblock made by a watercooling enthusiastic hobbyist called Cathar.

I'm thinking of buying a watercooling setup, are the swifttech waterblocks good performers for example the MCW5000-A-02 waterblcok.

The D-Tek whitewater is your best bet as the cascade is not available.
Overclockers watercooling forums is a great place for info.

TT Volcano 12 nice, your temp are amazing it's like watercooling!!!
my Thermalright SLK-947U performs very close to your heatsink, but I think your heatsink is better. Damn I should of bought the Volcano 12

I should also add that I have an air induction tube feeding room temp air straight in to my cpu fan... that dropped it about 10C. but yeah, I'm VERY happy with the temps.

That's one of the best bartons I've ever heard of. Congratulations. :)

Yes you can run above 1.75 on air. Im at 1.8V, I know thats not much higher than 1.75 but still. Iv been running it for a full year at 1.8v-2240mhz; and ive run it at 1.85 for a few months before aswell.

temps are - Idle 52c, load 57c

at 1.85, temps were 56c idle and 62c load...backed it down to 1.8 only because the oc gain was in the area of diminishing returns plus the additional heat/potential risk factored in abit to.

From my experience, as long as you dont go above 58-60c during load then your cpu will be fine, but above 1.85 i dont know if thats still the case.
