Rent. No other bills except for utilities/food/clothing.
We moved to take another job and had planned on buying a house here. But, we are concerned that with the present market/economy in California, it might not appreciate fast enough to make any money when we sell it at retirement. I can retire in as little as 3.5 years but will probably work 6.5 more. We don't plan to stay here but instead get a PO Box in South Dakota and travel.

Rent, Food, Debt Payments (St Loans), Car Insurance (fortunately no payments on the car)

I'm sure stupid shit I buy that I don't need is actually above Debt Payments when totaled all together :(

That's crazy.

We could certainly eat for less if we ate ramen noodles, cheap boxed food like mac & cheese, pot pies, etc. But that's disgusting.

pretty much everything we eat is fresh food, the kids prefer mac and cheese and hot dogs over most anything else. I guess I was a bit misleading when I originally posted that. The kids are only there 1/2 the time and my girlfriend only eats dinner at the house a few days a week. My breakfast is oatmeal. So it's about 15/month for my breakfast. Lunch is always just the 2 of us. Dinner is a little bit of whatever. I think we eat pretty good.

I'd say my mortgage by far
1st Mortgage ~ 1250
And if I include my 2nd mortgage and my property insurance ... then it's closer to $1600.
