Haven't tried the bolded, but you've listed off a few of my faves. Sounds like you're in California. How's the AV IPA? I love their Boont Amber. If you're a R5 head like myself, try a little creation joesmoke and I came up with...

It's a sublime mixture. I was going to suggest it to KeithTalent because he mentioned liking Dead Guy, but I highly doubt he'd be able to get Racer 5 in Canada.

So, is there any uhh non Micro beer that you would recommend? I never really had any specialty beers but I did buy Killian's a few times....liked it. But, yeah, should I just bite on like a Sam Adams variety pack and see which I like?

There are so many different styles and flavors within each style its hard to nail down exactly what you like. A variety pack will be a good start. If you have a local beer store with a good staff you can go in and ask for a few highlights of different styles. I did this back when I started and quickly starting figuring out what I did and didn't like. Sam Adams Honey Porter is tasty.
