Not true. The minimum to run XpostFacto is 9.0 Want proof?

I recommend having OS 9.2.2 for Classic, because some apps require OS 9.2.2, but you do need a hack to run OS 9.2.2 on legacy macs. But you do not need OS 9.2.2 to run Xpostfacto.

Xpostfacto will run on anything but from what I researched, you need the OS9.2.2 install dialog to start the installation process of OSX. This was awhile back though and maybe its not needed that way anymore.

I have never used Xpostfacto, so I am not sure. I just got that info straight off the Xpostfacto page. I was about to use it once on my PM 9600. It was using OS 9.1 and it was going to let me install it, but I didnt due to limitations, such as loss of serial ports so I wont be able to use Personal Laserwriter. Also the slow bus speed, which was stuck at 50mhz. And the internal floppy drive would not have been usable. I decided to stick with OS 9, and it did serve me well. Sadly, I no longer have my PM 9600, because I sold it for a good amount of money.

You can for sure use OS 9.1 to run Xpostfacto. I did it before I got my G4 with my 7600 with Sonet G3 card. Worked great and I was able to install OSX Jaguar. I don't know about anything older than 9.1. I am sure the Xpostfacto site will tell you what revisions of the OS it will run from.
