Lol, okay buddy. Whatever makes you feel cool.

the highest rated movies on RT are cartoons. many are not even good cartoons.

seriously, dude, almost all good movies fall between 40-80% on RT. if you look up your list of 'good' movies and they're all 95+, your taste in movies sucks. i mean, the shawshank redemption or seven or most of what others would consider comtemporary classics aren't even into the nineties on RT.

it's not just about being against something for being popular. good cinema never gets perfect ratings/reviews.

Early reviews at IMDB have it pretty highly rated (7.8/10) and RT has it at 63%. Not bad for a "shitty" movie.

I expected it to be a 2/10, I was wrong. It's hovering right about 0/10. It's annoying like just about all thrillers, except that even more stupid shit that would never happen happens. You know how at least 3 times in a thriller somebody does something nobody in real life would do under the circumstances? Well, that happens over 10 times. And the level of ridiculousness of those actions spikes pretty high because

Spoiler:
they both fuck the monster.

Pretty good movie. Not perfect, but good enough that I'm going to buy it on Blu-ray too. I give it a 7 out of 10.

That said, it's not really a horror movie in the usual sense. It's more creepy drama than gore, so if you're expecting sci-fi slasher, you're going to be disappointed.

Up to 73% now at Rotten Tomatoes (82/113).

Box office receipts were mediocre though, at about $7.5 million domestic for the w/e. It will take a bit to hit their $30 million production budget.

I thought it was great! I'm the kind of person that believes the movie Hollow Man should have had Kevin Bacon's character killing all the other characters and escaping and the ending should just be panning out of his footsteps while he just whistles. This movie
kills the right people, has Dren act accordingly with how a socially undeveloped human would in the same situation with the same power, and ends perfectly.

And the apparent $50 billion marketing budget.

I agree. Some of the implementation was a bit rough around the edges, but nonetheless these are some of the reasons I liked the movie and will be buying it on disc.

Is it? I had read $25 million.

BTW, the top earners for this weekend.

Shrek Forever After ($25.3 million) - RT 51%
Get Him To The Greek ($17.4 million) - RT 75%
Killers ($16.1 million) - RT 15%
Prince of Persia ($13.9 million) - RT 39%
Sex In The City 2 ($12.7 million) - RT 17%
Marmaduke ($11.1 million) - RT 11%
Iron Man 2 ($7.8 million) - RT 74%

So, Splice's $7.5 million was a disappointment. I was expecting something north of $10 million. BTW, out of the other four movies, I might eventually see Get Him To The Greek and Iron Man 2 on video, but I have no desire to see any of those other movies.

Awful movies need a lot of hype. It works as much as it fails, and when it works it brings in huge amounts of money. Hollywood isn't bad at tricking people. I wanted to say stupid people, but I've paid $8 to see some terrible movies.

A true statement with an example to back it up. Well done, sir!
