Awww man, and i was so excited to go rent this tonight and now its ruined! 🙁

You wouldn't have a chance unless you are on a waiting list like me.

Every blockbuster in my area has it rented out for years now.

Thanks for ruining everything for me, OP.

it was fairly straight forward except for all the relgious undertones that i never understood or noticed because i am not religious and know very little about the bible. i still don't get it neo was supposed to be jesus or was that little indian girl the last (insert rest of name here) supposed to be jesus. wtf.

and wtf are a few of you talking about "spoilers" if you haven't seen the movies by now then you need them spoiled for you since their relevance is nearly zip now and the likelyhood of the person who hasn't seen it running out to see it now or excited to is non-existent

Next time someone talks about Jesus's death I'm gonna yell at them for mentioning biblical spoilers...

wait jesus dies in the end?!?!?!?!?!?!

lawl

Yea but he gets rezzed rite??

Neo was given the illusion of choice. No matter how many times he met the Architect he always chose the selfish choice to save the one he loved and risk damning humanity. He basically always calls the bluff, but it doesn't matter because it always ends up the same way. If I understand correctly, the only thing that really changed the outcome of the 6th version of zion was the virus known as agent smith. That is why you can clearly tell Zion was about to be destroyed before the truce was made.

Which was the direct effect of Neo 'killing' him at the end of the first movie. Neo turned Agent Smith into the virus (funny how Smith ranted about viruses, too) that ended up being the ultimate threat to the Matrix and thus the machines' existance.

As for Neo controlling the machines outside of the Matrix, it's a little far of a stretch and was out of place IMHO, but it is just a sci-fi movie.

Neo upgraded to wireless in for the other two movies, so he's got a persistent linkup to the machine world. He's in the real world, but he can still exert control over the machines.

Sounds more like a VPN.

Oh you mean after Sephiroth stabs her at the end of disc 1 of FF7??

Hehe, i've pondered this question myself. Even tho neo is the one, there are a lot of others who shape his role even tho the focus is seemingly on him. His link to the machine world is one of the main reasons why he's the one. However, I don't get why the machines felt the need to install self-destruct devices in their robots just so neo could destroy them. His "link" to the machine world shouldn't allow him to be able to destroy machines in the physical world.

And I also don't get how the oracle can see the future. At most, she should only be able to see what will happen in the matrix, but not outside of it.

There was a great essay on iMDB explaining The Matrix Trilogy using a lot of connecting information and little bit of guessing in some parts but I can't find it anymore. I still think it was a great set of movies, I wanted more after The Matrix and that's what we got with the next two, and they didn't disappoint me.

One thing I could never set aside, or suspend disbelief in, is the whole humans as batteries thing. I mean come on, these brilliant machines and the best energy solution all their computing power can come up with is using humans as batteries. The whole premise is idiotic but I did like the first Matrix for the general story and action inside the Matrix. The other two movies just got even more absurd though.

Oh please. You lose spoiler rights after a year of the movie being on DVD. If you haven't seen it by then, its your own fault.

Rosebud is the name of his sled by the way, in case you haven't seen that one either.

Wow I think if I had not played the game, I'd find a way to murder you. That was the biggest bomb in like any video game ever... and yes I cried when it happened the first time I played it.

Actually, of all the plot's twists and turns this on made sense to me. It is true, humans produce a certain amount of BTU's which theoretically can be converted into energy. Using humans as the energy source requires much less "manufacturing" effort (self-reproduction) and upkeep (feeding tubes) and a single pair of humans can reproduce dozens of times over the lifetime.

Just my theory 🙂

WTF? This blurting out of spoilers is really getting out of hand. Next thing you know, someone's going to tell me Frosty melts.
