So I was stopped at a traffic light and this 4 runner pulled up next to me playing loud rap music. I usually get irritated when people play music very loudly, so I rolled up my window. All of a sudden I hear this black guy say "Oh, ya, roll up your window because a black person is here" in their usual black tone. In my mind I'm thinking, "No, it's not you sir, it's your crap music."

Put your flame suit on!

A better response would have been to pump up your own music. I either compliment the music or turn up my own.

Maybe he's intimidated by black people. I know I am.

Okay, I live in Los Angeles and I see just about every race there is. I actually work at a hospital and have no bigotry against people of any particular race. I just can't figure out why people use their race so much as an excuse. Reminds me of the time I was at my mother's sandwich shop. It's located @3rd st. and broadway called grand central market. Well, this black lady was making a big fuss because there was NO chairs to sit in. The mexican security guard told her to quiet down or get out. All of a sudden, she starts saying, "OH, you're kicking me out because I'm black!" WTF is this?

Being a female, i ALWAYS lock my car doors when im driving alone. I happened to use my moms car one time and her doors didnt automatically lock like in my own car. by the time i remembered i was stopped at an intersection near a bus stop. I locked them then. And being electric locks they made a loud clicking noise. I basically got the same response as you. "white girl afraid of black people" response. So stupid. I locked it for my own safety. Not because Im afraid of a certain race. A white guy can carjack me just as easily as any other race.

I'm a little sick of that, too. If it's a white kid it's perfectly acceptable to yell "Hey, turn it down!". But only to a white kid. Any other race, and suddenly you're labeled a racist.

Why should I tell him that? He should have the decency to lower his music. I don't "bump" my music up to 105 decibels for everybody in the street to hear. I'm Chinese myself, ANOTHER minority.

geez.... Ya know, I really dont care what race somebody is, but I too have been accused of bieng racist just like you there. I hate it when some blacks use the "its cause I'm black" excuse when it has nothing to do with the matter at hand. I hope that guy was just kidding or trying to mess arouind with you, because if not, then thats just sad. I too can't stand that music (rap music in general, or as this person in the 4runner probably reffers to it, "black music") in any form and would do the same. Its probably best you didnt say anything though because it would only have excalated.

That's why you need one...it's nice being to drown out 90% of everyone else's music who's on the road if you need too...:D

I mean, I have a few black friends and they're great. I just don't know why a majority of the black people like to use their race as an excuse. Oh yeah, I remember seeing a thread about a person who was black, specifying that he was outcasted by his own race because he listened to "alternative music" or any other kinds of music that was rap/R&B/ yadda. What's up with this too? That person stated that they thought he was a sell-out because he didn't dress black or speak with their ebonics tone. I think that is just sad. I wonder if that person is still on ATOT.
