I only lurk there, but this is what I know.
People are assuming that Victoria (a reddit employee and the admin of iama) was fired over a Jessie Jackson ama which went badly. Either Reddit fired her on their own or JJ's people demanded it. Considering Reddit hasn't commented on it yet and been fumbling around, it looks like the latter. They also closed iama for the time being. Considering iama is basically Reddit (corporate)'s most important subreddit, it's not something that's going to be missed. She was pretty popular with the users too.
When she did her AMA 9 months ago, she said she has been in in 1400 AMAs. Who knows how many more she's been involved in since.I only lurk there, but this is what I know.

Ellen Pao is a fucking douchebag. What used to be a decent platform of free speech has now gone full corporate. Good if you're a shareholder, bad if you're a user.
I've pretty much given up on Reddit since they banned FPH, the go to nowdays is Voat, but the sheeple will still flock to Reddit....
that's 8chan, a banned subreddit migrated to there too. Since the guy makes no money, anything is allowed there.I figured it would just be run like any other forum but with more servers and basically managed by some guy as a hobby while still having a day job. I guess the ads must rack in a lot more money than I realize.
So other option is?? The only votes you get in life are with your money or your participation. I guess you propose taking it up the ass like a big boy? We don't do that around here. Big boys don't take it up the ass. I wouldn't like living where you live.Neck beard rage is what's up.
Specifically, some chick gets fired:

She handled celebrity Ask Me Anything posts (where reddit users ask celebrities,... anything) and the bloated hairy faced masses of reddit loses it shit and takes its toys away.
Reddit is the summation of "Nice Guys" - guys that feel and pride themselves as being nice, kind and proper. But are easily set off and become enraged over anything. They are like a 5 year old, in the body of Jabba The Hut - but with more hair.

Today in AskScience we wish to spotlight our solidarity with the subreddits that have closed today, whose operations depend critically on timely communication and input from the admins. This post is motivated by the events of today coupled with previous interactions AskScience moderators have had in the past with the reddit staff.
This is an issue that has been chronically inadequate for moderators of large subreddits reaching out to the admins over the years. Reddit is a great site with an even more amazing community, however it is frustrating to volunteer time to run a large subreddit and have questions go unacknowledged by the people running the site.
We have not gone private because our team has chosen to keep the subreddit open for our readers, but instead stating our disapproval of how events have been handled currently as well as the past.
Here is what one of the more logical and significantly less emotional subs did; http://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/3by2nk/a_message_to_our_users/
No hissy fits. No mentions of anal sex.
This is big boy behavior, take notes lxskllr - learn something.
