I got the call about my dad dying while I was in the middle of a job getting some machinery ready for shipment. After I took the call and got everything set up to send his remains back up north (he was driving down to visit me in Florida when he died; we were going on a fishing trip when he got here), I went back out to finish the job, and ended up getting crushed by the machine. I attended his funeral in a body cast.

-My younger brother being put into rehab because he was on drugs and was crazy.

-My friend dying of a herion overdose. He was beautiful.

-My cousin committing suicide just before christmas. She hung herself in the back yard. She was beautiful too.

Other than that it has been peaches and cream.

Fortunate enough to not have lost any people close to me...

Worst I guess was when I had to have an emergency spleenectomy after rupturing it in a hockey game. Docs told me if I actually tried to sleep it off, I would have never woken up... I had tried but it was too bothersome to sleep off. I did faint twice before I got to the trauma room... woke up with needles in me shaking from the cold caused by lack of blood... that was scary.

I was born with Hydrocephalus (also known as water on the brain) and as a result I've been through quite a lot... 25 years and 25 surgeries later, I'm still here. 🙂 I've bent or broken just about every medical rule in the book, and I've had some pretty traumatic experiences as a result. In spite of that I still consider myself to be extremely blessed, and I wouldn't change a thing about that part of my life.

The worst day of my life was the night I came close to suicide. Second worst would be the day I lost contact with my then best friend, the only person I've ever really connected with. It's been over five years and I haven't been quite the same person since.
