my father said i'm an embarrassment to him, lol. :(

out of curosity...what brought this about?

mostly due to being lazy and on the computer for too long.

Hah. When my family was giving me a hard time about dating and marrying outside my 'race', I would respond, "Look at the bright side. At least I'm not gay."

are you oriental by any chance? those parents can get quite bitchy.

Oriental is what you call rugs, the correct term is Asian.

Worst thing a parent could say to their kid....

Crawl into the oven for a few minutes while I test the heating coils...

or simply "I don't love you"

i was amazed when my ex-gf's mom said to her flat out that "our life would have been better had we never had you" (speaking to her as the youngest of 3 kids). i had no idea what to say, was just blown away

ouch that would hurt...was she ok?

there was some consoling needed afterward. her mom isnt a very nice person after she's been drinking

"You're so smart. You can be anything you want."

Giving false hope to a douchebag is the worst thing a parent can do.

WTF? You dad is that hung up on an insurance company?

My dad said this to my younger brother, in front of several of our friends:

"Boy, I shot the wrong load when I had you".

And we wonder why my brother is worthless. Thousands of other episodes like this for reinforcement.

i didn't/don't want you would be much worse than an embarrasment. unless he means you an embarrasment because he didn't want you.
